That's sweet. I only found this machine now, it's a good one too.

Although the usual spot is a lot better, I went again this morning and I played A and got AA. No biggy. The biggy was getting a 300 combo in Captain Jack.

To continue my competition with Emptyeye...

So. Healing Vision (Angelic Mix). With a B. On 1.5, but still a B. Now to try to master 1.

I've found that there is no real walk to it, some of the spins you really do have to just double step. Only a nonhuman or DD could do it without becoming in the very least a little disoriented.

On the plus side, I DID full combo the entire final stream of the song and pull myself into a rather satisfying B grade. (that is, in case you didn't know, a solid 30 seconds of straight stream at HVAM's already beefy speed)

To add to that list, I also A'ed I Feel..., B'd V Oni since we last met, and A'ed Witch Doctor. My newest projects are Exotic Ethnic, PARANOiA Rebirth, Legend of Max, and So Deep. Thus far the only ones I've really made progress on are EE and Rebirth... I'm very close to passing Rebirth, and EE I still need some more speed for if I want to cap that stream. So Deep is probably going to never really be fully mastered by me, and Legend of Max? Well, the highest I can get while using the bar is about 30 seconds into it. I'll be a little prouder when I can hit the slow part and still go strong.

I also tried Trip Machine Survivor today... C'd it. Not a bad mix, Hiryuu, but I don't see what had you so worked up over it so long ago.

Let's see. I actually don't think I have anything new to report lately, though as I told Grey (It should be noted that I play on the various home versions, so I don't know how directly you can compare his feats to mine), I did manage to pass Rhythm and Police with a C. Unlike Grey, my problem isn't the gallops, but the fact that during the streams I usually end up double-stepping somewhere, and then it just rapidly goes downhill for the rest of the stream.

I don't know if you can call them "projects" or not, but So Deep and Maxx Unlimited are the only two songs I have yet to at least pass on Heavy (On MAX2 for PS2).

Random question: Does DDRExtreme2 on PS2 have stricter timing than the rest of the PS2 games, or am I just not as good at it?

I know MAX2 has strict timing, but Extreme1 is hella-easy!
I played Extreme2 once at my friends house, but only for an hour or so. But it did seem pretty fair.
Random Question 2: Any 10 footers on Extreme 2?

First, I look up to DD; he likes TM series. Nuff said there.

Second, you C'd it first time, I B'd it first time. Nuff said there.

Third, I WASN'T worked up over it. HVAM maybe. TM Survivor isn't that great of a song. Climax, however, is.

EDIT: SWR, On EX2: SAKURA, PS, PSM.

I presume the Legend Road course is still arcade only (At least as far as official DDR versions go)?

Just randomly, as I'd get stomped 15 seconds into MAX 300 were I actually to try it.

Yes, still arcade only (except in the Japanes DDRex, which includes Max. (period) as a sixth song).

I once got to the Legend of Max on Legend Road. I died right when it slowed down, there is a little stream in there that always screws me over. (I died on Legend in Legend )

Legend Road is in SM if you get the course for it. It's quite a bitch indeed. If I'm not mistaken the thing has 7500DP or so. PSMO is around 1250 itself.

In short, accuracy aside, it's pure Hell.

Well, yeah, a course with song levels of, if I'm not mistaken, 10-10-10-flashing 10-flashing 10 is designed to kill most people.

And I presumed I could get it in SM with enough effort, but I also don't consider SM an "official" DDR release, if you know what I'm saying.

You can get a lot of course here. I think you need to register though.

And as far as SM goes, you can make a course with flashing 10, flashing 11, flashing 12, flashing 10, flashing 10, flashing 13.

Question: Knowing that StepMania started off as (Well, it still is) a DDR sim for PC, are those above flashing 10 designed to even be possible to pass A. On a pad, B. with no bar?

If you meant my course, that was just a silly example that any course can be hella-hard in SM.
If you meant the flashing 10's in Legend Road, they're no problem to B on pad, or A (or even AA ).

I had downloaded Legend Road last Thursday or Friday, but after seeing that it involved course files, and I haven't a clue what to do with them, I deleted it However, I did take home all of Moogy and bgyoshi's simfiles. I've never heard of either of them before, but I decided to download theirs as I was looking for some difficult simfiles, and they both had a decent amount that looked like they'd be challenging. Xeno-Flow by Moogy is especially so. I used to think songs such as Delirium or Quasar were bad in terms of 16th runs, then I played it and saw that it could get worse. Still, Gaussian Blur is even faster. I did manage to get a B on Xeno-Flow, but I'm amazed I even managed to get that.

As for other difficult songs, Cold Pizza by DukAmok was pretty hard, although it was more difficult to find time to play the song while my parents were upstairs or out of the house, as it's got just a bit of swearing in it M was another one that was pretty hard, but I was trying to get an A on it, because I could get B's pretty much any time I tried the song. Satan's Castle is the only other one that comes to mind. The parts that just have quarter and half note arrows are fairly easy, although when the purple arrows start coming in (I believe they're 12ths), I pretty much tapped random arrows Songs on either list other than the ones mentioned either weren't too hard, or I was able to complete them, so I was just trying to get a higher rank.

Since the old thread's in the archive now, I'll post links to both score lists again. The frames version is here, and the no-frames version can be found here.

It's nearing 5:00 now, so until tomorrow (hopefully) this is it

Trip Machine Survivor's gimmick is the rhythm is a little tough to nail at times, plus there's a few odd twists that really doesn't affect that many people.

I tried ITG 2 for the first time yesterday and I hate to admit it, but I like it . The songs are a LOT harder than DDR. There's a BIG difference between a 9 footer on expert vs hard, where as on DDR a 9 footer was a 9 footer, regardless of difficulty. Plus, the songs are a hell of a lot longer, making stamina a larger factor. I managed to get 92% on Lemmings on the Run and get my name on the high scores. The pad was good too, the depression in the steps is smaller so you can slide your feet faster without getting caught by the metal chasing.

Only problem is that the ITG 2 machine is $1 / 3 songs, where as the DDR machine next to it is $.50 / 3 songs. But I'm hooked myself. After doing 3 games of ITG 2 I went to DDR and passed Paranoia Survivor which seemed not-so-hard anymore, though I have a long way to go before I can be considered good at ITG.

Yeah, I'm told the songs in ITG are about 30 seconds longer on average.

As for SM: I meant songs above flashing 10s in general as far as playing on a pad (And most likely with no bar as well) being possible. So yeah.

Well, look at it this way: ITG was heavily based on Stepmania's code and I know that they have 13-footers on their game that people can pass quite well. I know Ziff's shown me a vid of someone doing Euphoria Expert on ITG without bar and without mods and passing it really well and that's a 12-footer with mines. I can't pass it on keyboard. I come close but it's too damn fast and too miney.

So yea, people are that nuts.

Celebrate! Grey's in the tens!

Passed Bag with a B, and I got through So Deep (Perfect Sphere Remix) by the skin of my teeth!

By which, I mean I failed halfway through but was versusing someone who kept me alive until the end when I ended up keeping THEM alive in the final steps. It was a team effort.

Next time I'll pass it myself.

Got to the chorus in Cartoon Heroes too, but I screwed up the cross gallops and dammit, I was really tired at that point... Another song I'm close to passing.

Cartoon Heroes Speedy is Hell even on Standard for all the jumps at the pace its going. I remember having troubles with that back a few months ago. I've barely pulled an A out of my ass for Heavy.

I quote Legend of bag: 'bag sucks'.

Seriously. Past being 65BPM that everyone plays at on a mod anyways, it's not that great of a 10. I can AAA the thing on keyboard and I'm pretty sure on 2x I could AA it on pad at this point.
