It's getting close to completion. I promised screenshots to everyone, so here they are.

Megaman Ultra is a hack of Megaman 2

Title Screen

Start/Password/Continue Screen

Boss Select Screen

Bubbleman

Heatman

Metalman

Flashman

Crashman

Woodman

Quickman

Airman

Wily's Ship

Wily's Castle

Wily 1

Wily 2

Wily 3

Wily 4

Wily 5

Let me just remind everybody, that the music in this game, is completely changed!
Even though you see the screenshots, and you think, "hmm, I think I know what song is in that level," think again! :-)

This game has songs ranging from...

Megaman 1,2,3,4,5,6

Megaman X1,X2,X3,X4,X5,X6

and, Megaman 1 & 3 for Gameboy.

This game will also feature a story to it, this game is 1 of a 2 part series.

The timeline for this game takes place between the classic Megaman series, and the X series. For you diehard fans, from the description I just gave, you may have an idea as to where I'm going with this. If not, you'll all see.

To the beta testers, I will be contacting you very shortly, by that I mean either a few days, or about 2 weeks. I'm currently going through all my level desgins, and making sure they're ok.

I hope everyone likes the screenshots, and I can't wait to unleash this to Acmlm's!

hmmm, Woodman has a Super Mario Bros Level?? The game's music is completely changed.....hmmm?

Enjoy!!!!! -Infidelity!!!!!

Wow! The screenies rock! It seems like you ripped the bgs from the other classic MM games and Metroid. However by the looks of the first screeny of Airman's stage, I sorta don't like it. I think Airman's level should be in the sky, not on the ground and I think Heatman's and Metalman's level should be switched around (this is just my opinion.) Otherwise, it looks great and I can't wait to play it.

I can understand about the airman situation, but I feel since it's a hack, why not change it up a bit. He doesn't shoot tornadoes anymore, but something of a very similar size.

I used the lava graphics for Metalman, because I wanted the level to be considered and "metal making factory" And Heatman, I basicly just wanted to change Hetaman, and move him away from the traditional "lava" theme.

I also ripped another NES classic, and I'm not talking about SMB either ;-)

Thank You for the reply! :-) I'm happy you like them! :-)

I've always wanted to do a kind of hack like this, actually. I'm glad to see you've been so productive, and that you've been able to meet so many of your own goals.

Quick Man's stage looks nice. Nice work with the Metroid and Mario graphics. Good work on the ripped graphics from other Mega Man games as well. However, you should still fix the palettes in Metal Man's stage.

Very impressive screenshots infidelity. Every level looks real high quality. I love how you changed up Quickman's level tile set. It supposed to be the title screen's tile set right? Those Metroid shots look especially amazing!

I wish I was more familiar with Megaman 2....cuze I don't know if the Wily 4 shot is just a single boss screen or if you actually created an entire level with the Metroid title screen style. If it is an entire level with that style...WOW! very creative.

If I had to point out a flaw, I would say that last shot (Wily 5) is a little bland compared to the greatness of the other shots. I don't know if your restricted in any way in that level in terms of tilesets...but maybe you could try something real elaborate..since its just that one screen for the whole level.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

AlexAR - Thank You for your comments! Yes, you are correct on Quicman's level tile sets! Also, I even made the city look like it's "alive," there's some very tiny pallette switching, so it looks like blinking lights throughout the city! Regarding to Wily 5, I've been on and off about this one myself. This may be get an overhaul, especialy when you fight the bosses as well, that's even more bland, :p I appreciate your criticisim.

AK47 asdf - Thank You for your comments as well! As to Metalman's stage, I'm using the exact pallets from a particular Megaman 3 level, which I'm sure you can point out as to what it is. Also, the layout of the level, is from another Megaman 3 level, which contains lava. So that's why the level looks like that. I appreciate your criticisim.

To everybody else, I extremely appreciate your cirticisim and feedback!

I especially like the logo. The originals looked kinda dull.

The first screen of BubbleMan is practically what I always imagined what was at the top of that waterfall. It looks wondeful.

I think that you should add another color into MetalMan's stage though.

insectduel - First, thank you for your comment! Second, the obvious reason as to why I redid this hack, was due to the major glitch at the end of the game. I'm not asm savy like many of the hackers here, and I was unable to fix it on my own. So I wanted to redo my hack, because I felt that my vision, my creation was still incomplete.

Another reason why, is due to the music. At the time I released Megaman Ultra, Matrixz had offered me help, in understanding a translated doc that's floating out in internet land, that has detailed info on music editing for Megaman 2. To the people here, that have played the first version, you may remember some classic NES title levels in Ultra. I, and many others, invisioned how the level would sound with modified music. Bbitmaster and Matrixz are the only 2 I can remember, that have heard 1 particular tune I coded into Megaman 2, and they were amazed! After their reactions, and of course the major glitch, I decided to redo the game.

Another reason, I sucked balls with pallettes. I know people who saw my levels were like, ewww, the colors suck. Throughout time, I figured out how pallettes worked, and screwed around with it so much, that I now got every level looking like their original beginnings.

Level design is another reason. The only level that is "dead on" the same from the original release is Quickman's Level, everything else in this game is changed from the original release.

And last but not least. It had no story. My original idea, was to create a storyline between the classic Megaman Series, and the X series. Capcom never gave us a storyline linking the two together. So, to bring something fresh, I wanted to create a storyline that everybody can follow. Originaly, I wanted to do a trilogy. But I just don't have the time for that, so I knocked it down to a 2 part series. The 2nd part of the Ultra series, will be done in Megaman 4, mainly do to it's massive text readings, and the charged mega buster & slide that are included in the game.

Well, the game is literaly almost finished. I just need to get the story straight, and get my credits edited.

Once again, I'd just like to thank everybody here, for their huge support in this hack. Thank You!
