I'm changing the direction of the hack because I'm having a hard time implementing what I wanted to do. It sucks, but I still think I can make a good hack out of Mega Man 3.

Pretty much everything! I can't get the full menu to work, and I'm having a hard time getting the new stuff into the game.

A full menu is necessary for an action-oriented game? And what kind of new stuff do you really need to add?

No, a full menu isn't necessary, but I'm having a hard time coding it, and I'm having a hard time working with the game engine to get the new features I want in the game, such as new weapons, bigger and faster enemies. I would literally have to re-write the whole game engine to do what I want to do, and because of some inspiration I got, it has made me over-confident. Really what I wanted is a brand new MM game that plays completely different, and right now it still plays like the original NES style.
