...You know, this is one of those double-edged swords. You don't WANT to read about this stuff and you don't WANT to know why this guy's doing it, but on the other hand he seems to research everything well and it's informative in a weird way.

It's probably easier to do this for Myspace than something like LJ, really.

EDIT: Geez, some of these are sad. As for others... well, to take one example, if you try to RUN THE COPS OVER with your car, you're asking for it.

It's sad, it really is. It isn't creepy at all though, creepy would be if he was glad they were dead or something.

I'm not seeing the big deal here.

There's way more disturbing things on the net than a bunch of people who go to MySpace being murdered. I mean there's 66 of them so far. That's like, perhaps a ten thousandth of the people using myspace at the highest.

The fact is that this guy's researched ALL these deaths as well as 6 suicides so far. True, it's a tiny fraction of the Myspace community, but it's also a bit of a task to track down all these names as well.

I'm just skimming them, but check out 24, 25 and 26. 3 friends dead in a car crash, ALL on Myspace. That's a little odd...

I'm not saying that it's not a bit off to be doing this research. But creepy?

No.

Not really odd that all of the friends were on myspace. In general, if you're on myspace, your closest friends will be as well, in a certain age demographic. Which, Colin, we are slightly above. Which may be why it seems odd to you, and it would seem odd to me had I not thought about it

If you really think about it, I don't know why he bothers doing it. He has nothing to gain or they or whoever is running it... it seems kind of odd...

Well, SOME people are above that age range and have Myspace. (Not me though. Hell no. Someone I worked on a group project with last year e-mailed all of us to join Myspace. I trashed the e-mail.)

I think it's split into three categories: Deaths, Suicides and Murders (ooooooh, now that's interesting as long as I don't see a Murder and Death linked).

And I find these two statements to be a bit odd...

MyDeathSpace.com memorializes deceased MySpace users and picks up where
a regular obituary leaves off.

Yeah, those statements seem to be one honorable and the other a bit wrong.

And I actually do have a myspace account, but haven't really told too many people about it. I'm shocked at how many of my friends HAVE found it, actually.

Sad, yes.
Creepy, no.
What Cruel Justice posted is creepy. If I saw a murder, suicide, and death linked, that would be creepy.

Well, the guy who became wellknown for his myspace suicide on myspace turned into a fad on ytmnd.

Due to the nature of thoose sites, i'm not surprised if the number of deaths are actually much larger. :p

Yeah, it's not that weird... just kind of eerie. Obviously Myspace is very big, a large percentage of kids (heck, even adults) have their own page, so any accidents involving teens are more than likely going to be teens with a myspace.

The fact that the guy looked up all those people, however.. that is weird.

The most disgusting things are with drowned bodies. Gross.

What's even worse about that myspace thing is how people have been poking fun at these poor individuals. It's downright wrong.

I don't find it weird or creepy (heaven forbid!) either, just interesting.

I don't think the amount of car-related deaths is amusing though.. it's the most expected.

Well, this is certainly better than the already mentioned myspace-suicide ytmnd fads. Which there's now another one for someone else, apparently.

Those were sad, considering I knew the guy.

I don't think making fun of someone that died is very funny at all. But that's just me. =\
