My Lappy, Medion-brand, can double as a media center. Therefore, it has a LED panel on the front, visible even when closed. The preinstalled media center program uses the LED panel all the time. What I was wondering is how I can control it myself...

It probely uses some sort of I/O calls to control the LED panel. Try getting an I/O spy or something to see what its sending to it. Just a guess though.

Y'know, I have the model # printed on the box it came in, but the box is not where I am. But would that matter? All I need is the name of a good IO spy, right?

Well, i'm only asking because sometimes Linux Geeks will make little drivers and programs for stuff like that. I'm sure some Linux geek out there somewhere has released an open source app for controlling the LED panel on the front of that laptop.

Yes... but that too is not the matter now. An IO spy was suggested.
