| I haven't downloaded this yet, but I think I can get the gist of what this hack is about.
The only advice I can give you, seeing as I don't exactly hack any SMW stuff myself but have done and am doing a Sonic 2 hack, is to start small, and maybe learn how to use the applications for hacking properly, and work on one good level with what already exists in there. Put real time and effort into it, more than just one night, and make it as good as you possibly can. Show it off at first, explaining it is the first time you've ever done something like it, and ask for serious critique on it. Then, depending on the replies, either work more on making that level better or do another one. Carry on doing this, and as time goes on you'll find things easier to do, get the general idea of what is good and what isn't. Only then, should you think about going on to the other things, such as the overworld, new graphics and eventually new objects etc. Just my two pence. :| I lurk too often.. "OMG, I MADE A HAK DAT MOVES A FOO STUF AROUND IT DON'T SUCK LOL" That is why you suck. Why don't you go find a SMW hacking tutorial (look around, don't tell me you can't find one) and come back after you have read it, understood it, tested it, and mastered it. I mean, come on.

Selective criticism is bad. Phinsfan, if you can't make a decent hack, you shouldn't be hacking. And other members, if your criticism would be different depending on who is recieving it, you really need to rethink it. |
