I don't update here often cause no one ever gives feedback, but heres a comparison of new norfairs map, compared to the size of the original.... now imagin all the areas increasing by the same % and you'll have my hack, which will be completed in anotehr few months....

As you can see the size of the area is much larger than it used to be =) Crateria is soon to be complete.... Level design is almost finished!!!

Is it going to be like a remake of the first metroid because you are switching the original map to the first metroid map, but bigger? Is anything else going to be changed other than the maps.

Um..... How does my map look anything like M1? And an M1 remake would be stupid because Zero mission is out...... Oh, and the color of the map is changed to a flat color because I don't want any spoilets about room design

It's so nice to see this one come along. I am certainly looking forward to this hack, and yes Norfair looks so huge I can't believe it's only one area!

0_0 that map is almost 4 times larger than the original! NOW looks like Samus goes through all Zebes!

I supose you should change in what time you have to complete the game to see the different endings since this is not anymore the 1-4 hours game...

and the items will be much harder to find... good thing you don't put any spoilers ^^

It's impressive in scale, I'll give it that.

It's certainly something I want to give a look to. And from what I can tell from the screenies at your page, it still has a 'Metroid' design to it, which is promising. Just don't make it fiendishly hard or abuse Sequence breaking tricks, please?

Hmm, what exactly do you mean by Abusing SB tricks? you mean making a section only passable if you use, say, speedball? or Grapple and go through a wall?

If so, then No, my hack has no moments like that.... And most 'bugs' have been fixed/removed from the game.

Are you going to edit any graphics or change how any object behaves? What do you mean by "floaty jump." Are you using SMILE to edit the game?

Also, I don't mean to undermine your efforts, but quantity doesn't nesseseraly mean quality. Five big square rooms with a couple of space pirates, in my opinion is NOT better than just 1 room with a cool bomb-maze puzzle...with space pirates shooting you. Not to say your hack doesn't have that..just giving my opinion is all. I eagerly await this hack. Good Luck.

I don't know why the idea of remakes intrigue me when there are already remakes available. Its kinda like liking that supe mario bros game made from mario world when there was already a smb remake in mario all stars.

A metroid 2 remake coulda been nice tho.

To all who question if this hack will be like the other crappy hacks out there:

He's doing way more than editing levels. He is stretching the SM engine to new limits. Think Jman's hack, except this one will actually get finished!

I never said your hack was "shitty". I was just pointing out an interesting fact and asking a couple questions. You complained in your first post that no one ever gives feedback. I was doing just that, giving feedback. I see the great potential in your hack and I am only making sure it comes out as best it can. I see you've worked very hard on this so I guess that's why you don't want to answer my questions.

Alex, Sorry about jumping the gun, I was not angry, but after reaqding i did sound it, sorry for the confusion. My hack is being made because there had been so many "shitty" hacks out there for SM already, I wanted to mak this to push the game to its limits.

On a note to floaty jump, I mean in SM samus was much too light and I hated having to wait for her to fall, pluss it was difficult to bomb jump.... so I have made the speed of jumping and falling to be mroe like Metroid Prime
