| I look at things this way, guyys and gals. I would much rather have a light hearted laugh at the expense of Jesus than at the WTC towers being brought down or some other disaster that resulted from a gross misrepresentation of everything religion stands for.
One thing I am sure of is that the God that Christians believe in, should he actually exist (of which I personally believe that he does), has a very good sense of humor. A slightly perverse one, even. If you don't believe me, do this. Just go out to the mall and watch the people go about their business. Just watch them for...say...two hours. Then go home, turn on the TV, and watch nothing but the news and the commercials for two hours. After you've done this and you realize just how fucked up people are in general, consider the fact that they're all somehow still alive after all these thousands of years. Then you will get an idea of just how defined God's sense of humor really is. So no worries, folks...I think that He can take a simple joke. Agree? 
And for the record, I agree that that is the worst picture of Christ I have ever seen. In fact, considering that he was a Middle-Eastern man to begin with, I highly doubt that any pictures of him we see today are totally accurate. I haven't seen anyone who came from the Mideast yet who looked like an Anglo-Saxon long-haired hippie from New Orleans, go figure...  |
