| "Straight Flush!" Spider had his hand lined up, before the threw them forward. The cards cleaved through the army of viruses that Spider encountered.
"Viruses deleted, Zekk. Damn, that was the third virus outbreak this week." "Well atleast we helped David and the Maverick Hunters with the virus problems popping up here in Sim Battle City. You have the rest of teh day off, atleast until we can get a lead on Vile and his gang." "Yeah, sure..." The link disconnected, and Spider turned around from the battlefield and walked away. "With all this hype of the new Sim Battle Tag Team Tournament happening, I should of joined with Team Forte had they have more room. Oh well, the least I can do is run a betting pawn for Navi's who'll bet on the win-lose outcome and the likes." Spider smirked to himself. "I wonder what that Dracoon guy is up to... from what I've heard off the Bounty BBS, Dynamo got his ass whipped by that fellow in just a few minutes." He chuckled. "I resent that!" Dynamo shouted, popping out from nowhere. "Shut up." Dynamo narrowed his eyes before he walked off. "How should I have known Dracoon had powerful techs?" He shouted before he vanished over the horizon. "Cause your not bright enough," Spider muttered under his breath. * * * "There. Posted up. Now all I have to do is wait..." Spider walked away from the Sim Battle BBS and walked towards the nearest open stadium, "Hopefully I can get someone who's good to batle with." He flipped around a card, which revealed the Ace of Hearts, and flung it forward. The card sliced through the air before embedding itself into the trunk of a nearby tree. | As he reached for his glass of tea, Invader Mewquas was interuppted by his SIR unit Marty. Marty held a slip of paper in his hand with a request for Mewquas.
Marty: "Sir, this letter has reached me from an unknown source. Apparently the messenger was lazy and folded it into a paper plane." Mewquas: "Seems like something the Tallest would do..." He grabbed the paper from Marty and began to read it to himself. To Mewquas. Meet me at the Sim Battle BBS with the coordinates below at two o'clock today. Signed, X Obviously it was sent from another Irken, as it was written in Irken text. Turning his chair around and activating his parked ship, he strapped himself in and plugged in the coordinates into the main computer screen. The ship undocked from the hanger bay of the space city and shot forward, slicing past the other docked space vessels that rested here. He turned the ship and headed off in the direction of the coordinates. ------ Mewquas glanced around and still saw no sign of the messenger. He looked down at Marty and tapped his antenna. A holographic clock appeared in front of the robot. 2:30. Obviously he didn't want to waste time this way, so he walked off towards the closest arena, remembering that a few minutes ago he read of a challenge in that particular arena. Marty stayed put, keeping guard over the area and awaiting the guest. On the other side of the arena, Mewquas entered. Small in stature with a rounded green head and big purple eyes, he didn't look like a threat, but with the recent training he did with the help of Marty's simulations he was a formidable foe. He looked forward to see Spider, the opponent, fling a card in his general direction and lodge itself in a tree. Mewquas chuckled, knowing that this fool would be a simpleton, a joker, a mere beginner battle. "You know that joking on the battlefield will cause your utter defeat?" Not knowing the skills of his opponent, Mewquas gripped the bottom of his sword that was holstered on his back with his right hand while holding his left hand over the blaster on his belt. "Got anything special to add?" |

| The person Mewquas looked at was a tall Navi. He was wearing a dark suit and a matching hat over his purple hair. He wore a yellow belt, which extended into a pair of coat tail lookalikes at the back on which was the same icon as on the card that could be found embedded into the nearby tree trunk outside the stadium arena. A whole deck of cards was strapped to his leg in a small carrying case. He also had an extra card in his hat.
"So, your my opponent huh? Well you don't look like much, but, as what I learned from years of bounty hunting, never judge your opponent." "Spider? What's going on?" asked Zekk, as a window display opened up behind his Navi. "Nothing much, just issued anybody at the BBS to a Sim Battle, nothing too special. Besides, I need some lively fun to get me in the mood after taking on that virus outbreak a few minutes ago." "Yeah, sure Spider. Just need anything give me a holler." Zekk then returned his attention back towards his game, and unpaused the game he currently played, which was Sonic Riders for the X-Box. "Dr. Eggman riding at breakneck speeds is challenging, but fun," he said to someone else, which revealed it to be David. "Eggman sucks. Knuckles rules!" "Yeah right Dave!" Spider sweatdropped, before his face turned serious again. Spider waved his arm in front of him through the air, as five energy cards with the Spades symbol on each one appeared in front of him. | Mewquas glared forward at the cards that appeared and was confused as to how a game of cards could be incorporated into a fight. It was a silly thing to think about though, as when he was part of the Irken Empire they used strange tactics to destroy planets.
Nevertheless, Mewquas pulled out his sword and held it in front of him. Mewquas grinned. "Its been a while since I had a worthy opponent. Maybe you'll fulfill my need for a real fight." Mewquas jumped up in the air, sword above his head. When he fell back down towards the ground, he sliced the sword down. It generated a wavebeam that headed towards Spider, possibly slicing the cards and damaging the card dealer. ---- Meanwhile, Marty kept watch for the special person that summoned Mewquas. Sensing no life sources withing a ten foot radius, Marty decided to conserve energy and wait in standby. He was just in standby when he reactivated to a hartbeat signal by the bulletin board. Marty reacted instantly by changing his right hand to a gun and pointing it at the silhoette's head. The figure froze. |

| Spider grinned. As soon as he slashed forward, Mewquas did managed to deal a minor slash over Spider, but the card's remained. What Mewquas attacked through was Spider's Counter Card.
[Counter] Immediatly, the energy cards flashed and retaliated by floating higher, before they were launched towards Mewquas. If he isn't careful, Counter Card will deal in a five-hit damage range of whatever damage Spider recieved. The card playing bounty hunter leapt away, and discarded two cards from his hand, before drawing out two more. "Now try a Straight!" Spider held out five cards, which were three through to seven, and threw them forward in a machinegun-like manner, before he dashed away to implent soem distance between his opponent and himself. The cards may be cardboard, but they can deal in pretty good damage if Mewquas isn't careful... "Hey Spider, you sure you don't need any help?" Zekk asked, watching the battle via the PET link window. "If it looks like I'm in trouble, then yes." Zekk shrugged his shoulders. * * * "Spider doing well?" David asked the man. "Yeah, he's already launched a counter-attack with using Counter Card, then he managed to pull off a Straight hand and attacked with it. I say he's doing well." "Ohh, okay then." David looked at his hand before looking at Zekk, "Straight." Zekk put his cards down. They were a Royal Flush. "Ahh damn it!" David tossed his cards into the air before Zekk snatched the 500 Zenny bet. "Two out of three?" David looked at him, and smiled evily. "You're on!" |

| Mewquas watched as the cards launched forward for the counter. In order to dodge these cards, he quickly ran towards the closest wall and sprung out his mechanic legs from the pack on his back. The two legs rested on the ground until the cards were mere feet in front of Mewquas. The legs extended down towards the ground, but in trying to do so, it shot Mewquas up above the cards as they slammed into the wall.
He propelled himself forward a few feet, his back facing towards Spider to see the dodged attack. He failed to notice that Spider already began to retaliate with another attack. The first card whizzed over his head. Turning around to see what that was, the rest of the cards sliced the left side of his face. Mewquas felt slight pain and touched his wounds. He put his hand in front of him to see he was slightly bleeding. "Heh. To think that I misjudged you." Mewquas threw his sword in the air and reached for his laser gun. Pressing a button on the underside of the projectile shooter quickly, a long barrel emerged from the front of the gun and a scope on the top. He aimed quickly and pulled the trigger as a high energy beam shot from it. The sniper shot was aimed towards Spider's torso area. While the beam would be hard to dodge, the slightest movement of the target could mess up his aim, but only slightly. The gun then returned to normal and was holstered right before the sword slammed point first into the ground. Mewquas positioned his right hand in an L shape while grasping his sword and was prepped and ready for the next move, despite his sword being in the ground. ----- ???: "Chill dude, I'm here to ask Mewquas a few questions and that is all!" The shadow emerged into the light. The short and tubby creature was almost dinosaur like, with light blue scales and an orange belly. A horn was in the middle of his elongated nostrils and his mouth was conceiled by his alligator like nasal section. He had big, cartoon like eyes. A sack was on his spikeless back, but the contents were closed from view. "Names Alzo. What are you and what correlation do you have with the Irken?" |

| "Damn!" Spider couldn't easily dodge it, so he tilted down a little as he grabbed the rim of his hat. Just as the attack hit him, it didn't fully damage him, as an invisible crystalline barrier suddenly materialized in front of Spider. The attack still hit their mark, but the barrier that appeared only briefly (which had vanished by now) has taken out some damage.
"Well, that was a good aim there. I'll admit it, you got what it takes to be a good fighter there." Spider stood back to full height before smiling. Spider quickly whipped out five cards, and looked at them. He couldn't believe that he'd drawn one lucky hand. Five cards ranging from ten all the way up to ace flew towards Mewquas, all spades. Spider grinned and tipped his hat over his eyes. "Royal Flush." If Mewquas doesn't avoid it in time, they'll separate the mechaniloid legs from the upper knee joints. He could of used this hand to dela in damage, but first, he'll need to get rid of those mech legs... if they land in a sucessful hit. * * * "Zekk... are you cheating?" David asked. "Hell no. Unlike Spider, I never cheat." David narrowed his eyes before he grabbed his Magnum Revolver and pointed it at the man's head. Right away Zekk said, "Alrighty then, new hand?" David smirked as he grabbed the cards and shuffled them before dealing out his and Zekk's new hands. "Zekk, you do remember what happened last time between Spider and Marino right? When Netto and friends had just moved in a week before classes began last year?" FLASHBACK “I should’ve KNOWN you were cheating Spider!” Marino shouted as she choked the poor card player. Outside, Netto, Meiru, and Shun looked at each other, thinking they heard the name Spider being shouted out by Marino. “Aggh! I’m telling you…I never cheat…” “Oh? Then explain the ace up your sleeve cheater!” She choked him harder at the thought of losing all her money to a cheater! Marino found the ace in his sleeve when he raked in the third ante and when she noticed the well concealed card, she hit the ceiling. “Give me MY money back!” “No…” Spider croaked, though it held the same vigor as Marino’s. “No one EVER cheats Marino out of her prize! Especially not some low life scum card playing mercenary!” Spider attempted to reply but his windpipe got cut off, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way bub! It’s your choice!” “Marino, perhaps you should let him go,” ForteZero suggested. “NOT UNTIL THIS CHEATER GIVES ME BACK MY MONEY!” "Hey Forte... Zero... help... mee...." Spider croaked out. ForteZero looked at Marino, who was glaring daggers at him, which said 'help him and die'. "I'd rather not," ForteZero said as he backed away. END FLASHBACK "Oh yeah..." Zekk sweatdropped before dealing in a 1200 Zenny bet, and David raised it by 7000. David discarded two cards and drew in two from the deck, and Zekk tossed out three, drew in three to replace. "Full House." "Royal Flush!" David shouted. Zekk got up and looked at his hand before sitting bakc down groaning. David was snickering as he snatched the zenny off the table. |

| The cards soared towards the Irken's false legs, but Mewquas didn't bother trying to hide them, even when they were sticking out behind him like his own antenna.
The cards sliced the two legs halfway, right at the ball joint. Mewquas retracted the bottom halves into his life support pack while picking up the dismembered pieces of metal. He fused them together at the torn off ends and when he did so, they straightened out, forming a sort of double-sided spear. He slightly bent it to form a boomerang. He aimed a little to the left of Spider. After he threw it, he exposed two more legs as they seemed to follow the thrown weapon. "Standard leg extensions have two pairs of two legs." The boomerang's corner passed by Spider, and if his opponent didn't move, Mewquas would have scratched Spider. The boomerang turned and headed for a straight path towards the card dealer's back. The new legs were ready to either catch it or retreat to the confines of Mewquas's life support pack. It all depended on the circumstances. Marty, get here soon. Mewquas needed Marty for some of his special moves, if only there were a few of any use. The waffle maker was useless in this kind of situation, but the new upgraded battle chip... ----- Marty scanned the creature for any sort of information. No records were found. "Alzo, as you call yourself, are you at all a predator of the Irkens?" "Me? Predator to Irkens? What the hell do you think I am, a monster!?" Alzo walked past the SIR unit. "Care to answer my damn question now? How do you know Mewquas?" Marty was shocked at this character's attitude. Never had he encountered a foul-mouthed personality such as this one. Still, Alzo was the messenger, so he had to deal with it. Besides, this was new information for Mewquas to study upon. "I am his personal Standard Retrieval Unit, nicked Marty. Follow me." |

| Spider swore at this little fact. The little guy is more resourceful than he thought. Almost like Vile.EXE and one of his Ride Armors. He quickly reacted by dodging the scratch, then the weapon when it arced through the air, returning to Mewquas.
"Damn... Zekk? You hear me?" * * * "You can't win five times in a row," the man said. Once David revealed his hand, Zekk just tossed his hand into the air as the cards floated down to the carpet. David grinned as he racked up his fifth ante. "What is it Spider?" Zekk asked as his face was displayed on a PET window screen behind the card playing mercenary. * * * "Little help would be nice?" he asked. "Fine... Boomer3 Battlechip in, triple download! Program Advance!" Spider fused the three chips as his right arm morphed into a boomerang launcher. "PitRang3!" He drew back his arm and launched a multitude of metal boomerangs at Mewquas. They'll do plently of damage if they hit. "Gonna keep playing or you quit?" "I quit. Not gonna lose all of my money to you," Zekk said. David chuckled before he said his goodbyes and left the apartment. * * * Outside, just as David quickly transformed into his Command Armor, his wife Alia came through with a message through the Maverick Hunter radio frequency. "David, we need you back at HQ. There appears to be a virus uprising in Sharo's Net Areas." David sighed before he complied, and teleported away in a blaze of dark blue electrical light. * * * "So, who is this guy?" Zekk asked his Navi. "I don't know, but he's resourceful in battle. He's good in long-range, but I'm unsure with his close-range combat. I may take a gamble at it." "Well, I'm ready with a Sword type chip if that occurs. For now, use this for some extra luck. Wildcard Battlechip in, download!" Zekk slid in the chip into his PET, and on the PET display screen was an image of the Ace of Clubs, Hearts, Spades, and Diamonds. Wildcard will improve Spider's luck 50%, which will determine the outcomes when he uses his Fortune Card attack. |

| "You counter with an identical move? So clever." The sarcastic comment lead to Mewquas grabbing the boomerang with his remaining legs and having them retract to repair the damage. Mewquas had a problem to deal with though, which was to dodge the boomerangs. He turned his head around hoping that Marty was there, but he was not. He returned his view towards the attacker along with the projectiles heading in his direction. He lowered his eyebrows and gritted his teeth. Pulling his sword from the ground, Mewquas ran towards the boomerangs. One thing he learned was that running away from an attack would make it harder to dodge.
Boomerang one was simple to dodge as he threw his sword slightly forwards and jumped on it, using it as a sled to slide underneath it. Then is when the problem was going to come up. He stood on the sword and kicked it up, grasping the bottom of the sword as it passed his face. He immediately held it in front of him at a fortyfive degree angle to deflect the second weapon up in the air. The third boomerang, though, was mere inches in front of him. Quickly shifting to the right, he managed only a tear in his shirt. Obviously, the boomerangs would return as planned, so he ran forward towards Spider and slashed down, possibly damaging his opponent. ------ Marty entered the other side of the arena followed by Alzo. Marty saw Mewquas barely make it past the metal boomerangs and watched as the weapons began to spin around back towards the unknown foe. Marty watched and surveyed to see what Mewquas would do in this kind of situation. Research, as what Marty's programming told him to do, thanks to Mewquas's new upgrades... Alzo: "So, that's him, eh? Why don't you help him?" Marty: "Not until he recognizes me." |

| "AntiSword Battlechip in, download!" Zekk slotted the chip in rather quick, and just before Mewquas' blade landed a hit, Spider stopped it by planting his two hands in front, and stopping the attack.
Right away, he'll push Mewquas away. His right arm morphed into a Sword as he slashed in front thrice, each slash unleashing a basic energy wave (a Sonic Boom of 100 HP set damage) traveling at him. As for the PitRang3 attack, it did do a return trip, but none of them hitting either battlers. Before reaching one foot near the gray mechaniloid or its friend(?), it dematerialized into bits of data before being broken apart, and vanishing. Spider smirked, seeing if his counter-move on the sword attack would connect or not as the weapon vanished off his arm. "That was a good move, I like this guy..." "Now's not the time to praise him, Spider." "Right." Spider decided to use his Fortune Card ability, as he drew five cards from his deck and looked at them without discarding anything, "Well, not the hand I wanted but... a Flush will work." He revealed the cards, which were all Spades of a non-matching order. He fused it into one single card before launching it forward. If it connects, Mewquas will become blind for only two turns. As for this Battlechip... I'll insert it without announcing it, Zekk thought to himself, inserting another Battlechip into the PET. It didn't fully register... atleast not yet. |
