Yes, I am current working on a new version of EliteMap, yes anyone who worked on it before will get credit. I plan on doing a major recode of everything, and it will feature a new interface and optimizations on many parts. I was wondering if anyone had any feature requests, bugs that need to be fixed, games that need to be supported, and anything else anybody wants. Also instead of multiple EXE's and seperate programs, it will be one centralized application with plug-in support.

Anyway, post any ideas, bugs, and suggestions right here.

Um, the only thing is, I hope you have Kyoufu Kawa's permission. Though technically I was responsible for a minute portion of the origina EliteMap code, he'll...probably kick your ass if you're doing this without his permission. Just saying, is all.

Well I assume when you release the sourcecode to something that you intend for people to do whatever they want. I simply wish to make a new version of EliteMap with new features, bug fixes, and speed hacks. I see no reason why Kawa would disapprove of someone improving on his work.

As far as game support goes can you get all the GBA pokemon games to work on there? I've only opened it with Pokemon Ruby.

It...already does work with all the Pokemon games. So I'm pretty sure you won't see him scrapping that particular feature ;x

So many requests so little time....

Major Requests
-Bug fixes
-Remove the tile cashe (10mb of tiles in the folder at one time -.-)
-Change the easter eggs in the program
-Make a way to insert more maps in the game... (Like advance map)
-Sprites...Viewable
-Improve the search abilty of elite map (more like advance maps way where you can search and choose the offset yourself)
-Better lableing of what each movement data does
-[Caps attack]And dear god make a way so you can edit said data in another area instead of replaceing the block over again[/caps]

-A tile editor -Like advance maps.
Make event editing and sprite changeing easyer...

Hmm I will think of more as they come..
But what I say above is some of the reasons why I prefer advance map..

But thats only me..

I have to learn VB some time.

What about making it more user-friendly, and the moment it looks kind of like it's something someone threw together for themselves so they could do things faster. Ooh, make a better script editor! One that you just click, edit, then save, NOTHING else.

- Tools will no longer require you to have the ROM in the same directory.
- Centralized UI for all the tools, much like a ROM hacking desktop.
- Plug-in System
- Make everything like AdvanceMap since people hate AdvanceMap but want everything to be like AdvanceMap (Fuzzy Logic!!).

Fixed
- You can now have all the tabs you want inside PokeRoms.ini.

Scrapped
- Themes, WHY DOES A ROM HACKING PROGRAM NEED THEMES??
- Easter Eggs, Again, Why does it NEED these.

Yes, I plan on making the tile cache optional. I might also might make the cache use some sort of compression, such as RLE.

Adding More maps, I'll see what I can do, based on looking at what AdvanceMap does.

I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to implement this.

Could you explain better? Do you mean like if there is a ton of tree's in an area, you can do something such as flood fill?

Ah damn my temporay poor grammer and spelling anyway,

When you set a tile on the ground you have a preset movement type with it. (Walk,Can't walk,water ect) There should be a easyer way to change what the movement type was.

Sprite changeing/event changeing When you click on advance map there is a box saying (Script) and a arrow up and down with the sprite number.. Make it like that..XD

What's wrong with RS Ball? It makes editing trainer and pokemon sprites less time-consuming. Rather than kill it off, fix the BMP importing Kawa broke in the last version.

Funny you should say that. I've tried multiple older versions to see if they had working import code.

Even the original Bouchéan version failed.

Hmm... This is a great idea. I have 3 feature suggestions:

Make PAttED/BaseEdit/Dexter/etc work with FR/LG/Emerald

Make Spread work with Emerald (if you keep it... >.>)

If you use your Overworld Sprite Editor in place of Spread, please make it show the pallet's offset in ROM...

Otherwise, it's looking like it'll be great! I look forward to it! =)

Nice and all but a friend of mine is working on a tool called PokeTronic's NobleMap.
And it will be a very good hacking tool.

But let wait and see.
