I'm not sure quite what I did, but... Somehow, in the hack I'm making, I managed to make it so that the layer 3 tidal water (both types) no longer affects Mario. Has anyone else had any experience with this happening, or how to fix it?

(All I've done so far is to apply BMF's pirhana plant fix patch, alter the number of walking/running frames Mario uses from the data thread, alter the graphics a bit through Lunar Magic, change Mario's unique palette portion, and change Mario's mappings a bit with Smallhacker's tool.)

I don't think screenshots would show too much... If an IPS is needed, I can put one up. Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

Hmm... On second thought, the problem isn't with the layer 3 water. It's that Mario doesn't respond to layer 3 ANYTHING now. Needless to say, this makes certain levels in the original game VERY easy, but makes others... completely impossible.

Again... any help would be appreciated, if anyone's ever had this problem before.
