A young boy, around the same age as the bouncer at the front door, shuffled down the stairs to the blue-lit basement. Teddylot was still sitting in his designated La-Z-Boy chair waiting impatiently for his invitees to show. Zap: Umm, yeah, Rick and Pitch just came through the front door ... they'll be down in a-- Teddylot: Yeah, whatever, that's great and all, but where are the big names!!! I'm pretty sure I invited some of them. Melvin, Kirbynite ... Skydude!!! Didn't I invite Sky? What about Dani ... and SomerZ? Hmmmmmmm ... Zap: But ... they're not really ... active anym-- Teddylot: Bup bup bup bup bup bup ... bup ... Where are they? Zap: Umm, well, they could be at the party next door. Teddylot: =o ... Why ... wasn't I invited? Zap: You were. Teddylot: Oh ... that's good. As long as I was. Now, go fetch some of the party-goers next door. I want some kind of activity down here. Zap: Of course ... should I tranquilize them first? Teddylot: Yeah, yeah, sho', sho'. Do whatever. Zap quickly turned 'round to face Rick and Pitch. He spread himself against the wall to let them pass down the narrow stair flight, then quickly took the stairs in stride. Teddylot: Soooo .... guys ... who wants to LAN? 'Cause I am ... yep. ... Rick: We're ready as soon as we hook up our machines. Pitch: Food's always good, mang. ------------------------------- All of a sudden, a round object, engulfed in flames, crashed through one of the tables, and skidded on the grass for a few feet before stopping. Before anyone could've investigated what it was, a sleek figure, garbed in red-violet robes, drove her left foot into the ground where the round object was laid out in. However, the round object jumped out of the crater at the last moment, allowing the robed figure to kick nothing but dirt. The object's features were now easily seen. A pink body, two stubby arms, two red oval-shaped feet, a yellow backpack, and a red cap. It was the island owner, Kirbynite. Kirbynite: How many times do I have to tell you, Dani?! I don't know where the Chaos Emeralds are, let alone know what they are. Danielle lifted her leg from the crater, and immediately knocked the dirt off with her hands. She swung her head back, moving her great mane of purple hair behind her body. Her eyes quickly fixed onto Kirbynite once again. Dani: I find that hard to believe when you are the keeper of the land of which the Chaos Emeralds originate from. Kirbynite: If this is about Schala, I'm telling you, I'm sorry! How many times I have to say it! Dani: Grrr! Danielle held out her hand, spawning a large broadsword that emitted a black aura. She gripped the sword firmly and lunged towards Kirbynite. With a loud, metallic clang, her broadsword was stopped by another figure's sword. Dani: You! The most distinguishing features of the figure was his plumed, red mage's hat, the long, black hair the hung underneath the cap, and the crimson red cloak that covered his body. Kirbynite: Sky? Wait a minute.. Sky: Sorry I'm late. I got caught up whe-- Before Sky was allowed to finish his words, Danielle withdrew her sword, throwing off the red magewarrior's balance. The purple haired woman moved beneath Sky as he stumbled, and punted Kirbynite into the air. Before Kirbynite moved too far, Dani held out her left hand. The pink creature was encased in a translucent bubble, rendering him unable to move. Danielle laughed as she floated up into the sky. Dani: Kya ha ha ha ha. It's so easy to ensnare you when you have my sister's pendant with you. Perhaps if you spend some time in the Zealian dungeons, you might talk a bit. ^_~ Danielle held onto the bubble, and phased out in the direction of the northwestern landmass that can clearly be seen over the trees. One of the figures starts to remove its ear device, but stops. ???: I could swear I just heard some rustling in the top of that tree. *points to a nearby tree* ???: Eh, probably a squirrel or something. | The three hunters rushed over to what was happening as well. Zero had his saber drawn, Forte with both his busters out, and ForteZero's right arm morphed into what looked like a imitation of RockMan's Rock Buster.
ForteZero: "Hey, what's going on?" Zero: "Heard an explosion and raced up to see the comotion." Up in the trees, Colonel Redips was watching and listening into the mystery characters, using the DNA change to transform into what looked like a mechaniloid version of Kirbynite. He decided to follow and keep an eye on them, intrigged about these "Chaos Emeralds"... |

Grey stared up into the sky as Dani floated off with Kirbynite in tow. "I haven't paid my first month's rent yet!!! I---oh, she's gone.... Damn! (where's Janus when you need him?)" He looked around at the motley crew that was left on the island. There wasn't really much for him to do but tag along.... His landlord's life was in danger, and he HAD played Chrono Trigger. But more important were those Chaos Emeralds... Chaos was a powerful force, capable of corrupting one's very soul. If placed in the wrong hands, it could prove to be very dangerous. And of course, anyone who wanted to use their hands to hurt Kirbynite would definitely be in posession of the wrong kind. |

The magewarrior stood up straight, and looked over in Dracoon's direction. Sky: Hey! You over there! I don't know who you are, but unless you've got a plan, it's a waste of time to go over there. The Kingdom of Zeal, another floating landmass, was lodged in with the north western side of Neo Grape Gardens years ago. It would've been a great trek if one were to simply walk through the uncharted terrain of Neo Grape Gardens. Sky: Danielle has a barrier up, much like the one she had many years ago. Allison: Oooh! Ooh! Because it was powered by that Mammon Machine, the gods were the only ones that would be able to break down the barrier without the weapon that was carved from Dreamstone! Sky: Smart girl. Allison: I try my best to research.  Oh.. but... she wouldn't do the same thing, would she? I mean..
Sky: She's got something else powering the barrier. Something called the "Master Emerald". Unless anyone knows anything else about it, the only way in is something I wouldn't like. |

JDavis pulled an odd electronic device from his pocket. JDavis: Yo, Quint. Can you do a search on "Chaos Emeralds" and "Master Emerald"? Quint.EXE: One moment.... A Chaos Emerald is a mystic item that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, allowing the holder of all seven of them to transform into a "super" form (see Super Sonic). Each emerald is composed of positive and negative charged materials which make them an everlasting source of energy and allow them to float. This energy also makes their possessors faster than normal. Sonic and Knuckles only use the positive charged part of the emerald to transform, which is demonstrated by Sonic at the end of Sonic Adventure. Knuckles has only been able to transform in Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Tails was also able to attain a super form with the use of both the Chaos Emeralds and the Super Emeralds in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The Chaos Emeralds can be anywhere, usually located in a Special Stage. Even alone, their power is unmatched by anything else in the universe; however, their power can be halted at any time by the Master Emerald. The Master Emerald contains an immeasurable amount of power which is used to keep Angel Island afloat in the sky. The emerald also possesses the ability to negate the effects of the Chaos Emerald. Meaning it can stop the energy of the chaos emeralds. However it is still yet to be seen if Super Sonic would revert back to normal sonic if the emerald is used on him. Though it is possible the negation works both ways, since Angel Island fell when Knuckles brought 6 Chaos Emeralds to the Master Emerald shrine. The Master Emerald can also be used to turn into a character's super form, but this was only shown once in Sonic 3 and Knuckles when Mecha Sonic turned into Super Mecha Sonic using the Master Emerald during Knuckles' final boss fight for the Master Emerald. Little is known about the origin of the Master Emerald except that it resided in a shrine on Angel Island for an unspecified amount of time, guarded by Knuckles the Echidna. JDavis: ... 'kay. Wait... Didn't Kirb buy Neo Grape Gardens from some guy named Knuckles? Oi! That big freaking emerald we found on Neo Grape Gardens when we were in the future! The one that keeps the island afloat! | By this time, Melvin had stepped outside, Smithy and Booster in tow. He scratched his chin, and pointed to the Volkswagen standing untouched by the house.
Melvin: There are ways to buypass a barrier like that. If we were to travel back to a period when Zeal wasn't inhabiting the current spot it is in now, occupy a spot inside the barrier, then jump back forward, that would effectively solve our problem. He comically dons a leather hat and produces a bullwhip. Melvin: But knowing you all, we're about to go on a high-flying adventure to collect seven Chaos Emeralds to punch through that barrier instead. Nevermind that we could just find a Super Emerald- Smithy SLAMS his oversize arm into the back of Melvin's head. Smithy: THE ARCHIE COMIC BOOKS ARE NOT CANON |
