If by Retro you mean music before the 80's then here is a list.

-Elvis
-The Beatles
-Bob Marley
-The Doors
-Aerosmith
-Beach Boys

I also have a Double-Album (That I made) containing songs from: The Monkees, The Beegees, Tom Jones, Chuck Berry, Queen among others.

Not much.

50's to 70's
-The Beatles
-Nat King Coal
-Perry and Como
-The Rolling Stones
-Johnny Cash
-Jimmy Hendrix

I don't think 80's would really count as "retro". If it was, then there would be hundreds of artists here but I'm too lazy to type them all down.

Lemme think of some lesser known retro bands that I love:

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO for short)
Arthur Brown
Dr. Hook
The Move
Sparks
Roxy Music
T. Rex
The Zombies
The Yardbirds
Wizzard
Sweet
Slade
Cheap Trick
Steely Dan

Ok the last two are pretty well known, but they have this retro thing going on with their image and sound, even though it's not dated sounding at all.

Huh. I was actually coming here to post a thread on this very topic.

The best retro bands to me were, in no particular order, The Who, Eagles, The Moody Blues, Billy Thorpe, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult, Metallica (not really retro, but their eariler stuff was better), The Doors, Kansas, Aerosmith, and Chicago. There's other but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Best retro song? Probably Hotel California.

I do listen to ABBA every now and then, and I used to listen to Boney M, but not so much anymore. And lately, I've been having this urge to listen to Toto (they might not be all that retro, though.)

"Classic" Rock as a whole is over-rated, not that all of it is bad. But I listen to Ska and Punk mostly.

That's an awfully general thing to say.

I also like classic punk, but not so much the more modern "every song sounds identical" type of punk.

"When I kissed the teacher"
"Waterloo"
"Thank you for the music"
and
"Money, money, money"
