-Read the FAQ. -Have fun and enjoy your stay. If this is how you were going to greet me, let me just say: YOU FAIL! These phrases are so cliché and predictable. You need to be original and creative just like my post (except the thread title, since I 'borrow' it). Yeah, that was a bit mean, but it's the truth. Were was I? Oh, yeah! Here's some info of my browsing before joining. ----About my browsing on Acmlm's Board---- I have been browsing this board for about 2 years, I have seen users get promoted and some falling to disgrace. And some being banned too many times that I lost count. I have seen recently the return of old members that have been members at the old board. I know about the crash of March 2004, it changed the board forever but managed to return back online. And also about the 'crash' of November 2005 (or is it Octuber?) that happened because of various bugs on the board (and probably drama). Since Acmlm' Board is now stable (for now), I'm going to join after 2 years of browsing. You may at first think that I'm just showing off, but this is what happens when you're browsing for more than 2 years. How did I found out about this board? Lunar Magic. ----About my browsing on the Internet---- I mostly see Photoshop pictures and sites related to the theme. And I also like to browse at Uncyclopedia, since that site is quite funny and a parody of Wikipedia. ----About my abilities as a SMW hacker---- I have knowledge that some of you haven't found just yet, but thanks to my determination to improve myself, I have found it (mostly by curiosity). From November 2003 to November 2005, I mostly used level design and ExGFX in my test hacks and I wanted to know how to create my own custom blocks (so I can have the SMB3 cannons!), until I found Glyph Phoenix's ASM tutorial that featured some examples of custom blocks. I have become quite good at making custom blocks and also fixing and improving some existing custom blocks. One of the first blocks that I remember making was a block that puts a 1-UP in your item box (that was way before I knew how custom blocks worked!). But now that I know how to create my custom blocks using RAM addresess, the SMB3 cannons are now a reality. However, I must give credit to KT and Ghettoyouth for the inspiration they have given to me. Also, I have STR (Sprite Tile Remapping) abilities that allow me to change the tile mappings of the sprites. All I did was fix the frame of the sliding Blue Koopa and I got quite good on STR. So using STR, I can create a Thunder Lakitu by just remapping the tiles of Lakitu and using Palenemy (but I won't tell you how I did that just yet). That reminds me, I have found ROM addresses that you will find useful. I may well post them on the board, since I don't want data just sitting around in my computer. Whoa! Too much information? Well, at least I'm not a n00b, which is why I put that thread title. Until then, I will see you some other time because I'm tired. |

Welcome!  Sounds like your good at SMW hacking. I'm new, but I've made alot of posts in about 11 days. You know more about this board than me.  I started as a n00b, but now i'm a regular poster. (About 10 a day) I think you'll make a good member. WELCOME

| I'm not an old member, I just joined after browsing for more than 2 years as a guest. So I'm familiar with some of the users (old members, new members) and some of the forums.
Lunar Magic is the utility that started it all, I have evolved from level design to minor ASM hacks. I still have a lot to learn so I can have those vertical scrolling levels, but for now I will just wait. As for the SMB3 cannons, I will only give them to people who are truly worthy of having them in their hacks. I think I will evolve than just posting at the rom hacking forums, sooner or later, I will begin posting at the other forums. Thank you for your replies! |
