| Is it possible that I can turn vivitar 3615 digital camera into a PC web camera ? I have a new SAKAR extendable tripod, S video cable, happauge TV tuner card. if this is possible to do this, what software can I use to get started ? | |||

| You need a USB wire that connects your camera
to your computer. Then use a software called AMCAP by Microsoft It's a really basic software, alternatively I think you could also use Netmeeting |

| thanks for the software but I am having a small problem with that software I plugged up my camera via through USB but AMCAP couldn't pick it up, xp knows my camera is there but not AMCAP. | |||

| Doesn't Windows XP have a built-in feature for detecting and installing usb-connected cameras as webcams?
If so, all you'd need is the cord and a fully updated copy of Windows XP. |

| Yes it does windows xp sp1 and the latest windows xp sp2 can detect cameras as web cameras with the cameras editing software or not.
Also I have had windows xp pro sp2 CD for over a year now and I keep it updated but like I said in my last post, that,software can't recognize my vivitar 3615 camera with a USB cable connected. does anybody else have a another suggesrion for software other than amcap ? |

| I know what you're thinking.
You can't do it. Most digital cameras simply represent their photo space as a generic USB block device. Sorry. |
