I´m gonna make some weird monuments/signs for the scientists on Earth to go gaga about.

And wtf, we´ve only sent a few satellites and we barely know anything about Mars. I didn´t expect something like this to be created so quickly.

Oh, I'm sure they know much more about Mars than they're telling us...at least, if there's anything particularly interesting.

You'd be shocked at how much we can know about places and things we've never even been to, let alone that we've sent things to, like Mars.

I expected this to be in the topic when I clicked it, despite not knowing about it. I don't think we'll be able to make claims while we can't travel there, much less live there (reasonably).

I didn't know mars was so grooooovy! *shot*

Yeah, I don't see what good this will do besides make people claim they see aliens or something.

Or, you know, claim a plot of land.

Google Earth isn't really particularly useful for that many pursuits of everyday people either.

It's just cool. Really, really cool.

They need a real color map of Mars. No rainbow. Red. Otherwise, this is pretty... cool, I guess. Too bad it doesn't have the super-zoom-in gag like Google Moon.

Yeah, when you zoom all the way in, it should just have a hand flipping you off and some text that says "FUCK YOU"

seriously it would be a riot

Too bad most of the time they don't bother spending the extra money to take pictures in color, instead sending lame black and white pictures back here. Or it could be that a lot of the pictures are quite a few years old, too.

This is... mildly amusing. And it's rather cool to be able to see all the landing sites and whatnot.

Some sad shit might find a martian.
Something funny about when I saw this thread.. I was joking in science once that there would be a Google Mars next.

Well, compared to the Earth, mars IS pretty small. I think they put it shaded by altitude partially to make it more interesting to look at.

They should just add a bunch of black monoliths everywhere and make an announcement that they are the latest pictures from NASA or something hilarious like that.

Seriously, if google did that I would delete this post to make it seem like they thought of it first.
