| I really had to bring up this thread. But most recently I voted for Gideon and he's eliminated. My mother wanted him to be the top 12. But unfortenely all other singers are like crap.
What do you guys think? |

I, sadly, watch this show now. And I really liked Gideon, he had talent. I dunno why he was voted off. 
For guys, my two favorites are Chris Daughtry, Elliot Yamin, and Kevin Covais. Chris is kickass, Elliot has an amazing voice, and Kevin is like, really talented, but studious about it. They both rock. Bucky and Taylor need to die. Girls, I don't really have a favorite anymore. Mandisa has a great voice, but not so much appeal. If I had to choose, I'd go with Lisa Tucker. Out of all of them, I'd choose Chris. |

| I watch AI with the understanding that it is not truly about finding the best new singer. It's a soap opera. A Television Without Pity reader who auditioned for Season 2 on a lark - and wrote about the experience - actually heard this directly from a producer. I like to be entertained when people perform well, snark at the sucky performances, and notice how contestants are pimped (or downplayed). Obviously, the back stories are told to promote sympathy, but I swear there is more subtle manipulation going on. One week, the girls all sounded like regular people, but a week after that, their voices all magically had a more polished timbre like the vocals on a studio-recorded pop album. A week of vocal lessons can't do that, but it's a trivial task for a sound engineer.
Oh yeah, and Simon rules. He reminds me of Mr. B, the drama teacher who was in charge of the spring musicals at my high school. Mr. B had very high standards and always told it like it was. We got lots of criticism, which was often rude and/or funny, and when we received a compliment, we knew he meant it. And for some reason, this style of critique really worked for us, and we put on kickass shows. |

| Season 1 and 2 of American Idol was aired here in Australia. I watched some of the episodes, but got bored pretty quickly, maybe because Australian Idol was aired at the same time.
Personally I think the show is getting less-interesting each year. Same with Big Brother. Out of the judges though, Simon is my favourite. He can get really annoying sometimes though and very unfair on some of the contestants, but I like someone who is straight-forward. |

| I completely gave up on this show 2 years ago when I realized how absolutely shitty it was. I used to watch for the roffles when Simon would just mock the shit out of people, but even that got old. Plus, pop music (for the most part) and reality shows are just terrible ideas overall. Bite sized bullhonky for the masses.
Of course, I like House,but that's...different. :p |

| First off, I love Simon. He doesn't give an F what people think and says what he feels. Take it how you want, its just his thought and you can ignore it if you want to.
Last night, I'm a bit sad to see Melissa go. I really liked her. And last week, it was hard seeing her and Ayla in the bottom two since I liked Alya as well. And WTF?! Why the hell is Kevin still there? I swear, this has to be some sort of joke. I can't even watch him when he sings. Pisses me off that he's still there But every season needs that one person that shouldn't be there to still be in it. 
I'm now going for Chris, Mandisa or Taylor to win it. But I'll be happy if Kellie, Lisa, Paris (she's so tiny and cute!) and Ace for the win, since I like them as well. |

Skyon, you posted that Kevin was out when you saw it... but keep in mind the west coast sees it 3 hours later. So when I came in to this thread, you said Kevin was gone before I even saw the show, and it's pretty disappointing when it's ruined like that. =\ It's not the end of the world though, just use spoiler tags in the future if it's something that not everyone has seen yet. Thanks for the example, Rydain. 
As for AI, PLEASE get rid of Kellie. She is why blondes have such a bad name. >8( |

| Wow, how hard did tonight's episode suck? You'd think the theme of 21st century music would give the contestants a chance to shine, jeeze. It's a sad night when Taylor has one of the better performances.
I'm most annoyed by Chris singing Creed. That was just horrible. Unless next week he does something that doesn't involve shouting, flashing lights, and smoke, I am so over him. If I could send one person home it'd be Ace. That was disgusting. I think Lisa is going home, with Bucky and Ace/Chris in the bottom three. It's hard to guess beyond the doomed Lisa. =( |
