Okay, last Saturday, I decided to pick up FF4 again where I left off(when you first get Rydia) and have been making speedy progress. Well, I had just beaten Lugae, the dark Imps, and Yang just sacrificed himself in the Tower of Bab-il. Now, when I left the place, Golbez did NOT intervene. I just left. The bridge didn't come out from under me or anything. And then, on top of all that, if I go back to the super cannon room, the door is locked and it opens up a mini item menu expecting me to have the Lugae key.(which I obviously don't because I used it) What the hell is going on?! Am I forever stuck?

I recommend loading from your most recent save and trying again.

Well to clarify things, the bridge that's SUPPOSED to go out is the entrance one, right? When you say most recent state and try again, you mean before Yang dies? Because I don't have a save that far back... But I've gone up and down the entrance bridge a couple of times now...

Yeah, it's the entrance bridge to the tower, so that if you "successfully" cross it (that is, glitching in this case so Golbez doesn't attack) you should be in the underworld. So then you saved AFTER Yang died? Hmmm...I suppose you could go back to the top floor and 'examine' the teleporter thingy. I doubt that'll do anything, but it could be an event trigger of sorts.

Oh goodness, it's like the RPG gods never want me to complete another rpg as long as I live. (edited by Everybody Wang Chung on 03-10-06 01:02 PM) |

I think that actually this is proof, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that God hates you. Anyway, are you playing this on an SNES, GBA, PSX, or some rom of one of them?

Actually, I do recall hearing that you can literally get stuck forever in FFIV in one part.
You could be stuck for good. |

Your rom is bugged. Download a new one. The J2E Anniversary translation should do the trick.
I'd also advise you to delete the URL to the rom site you mentioned. Linking to roms is against the rules. |

I never had trouble with that part being a glitch, but the rom may have a glitch in it somehow, but when the guy was translating it that may of had been the glitch when he translated it, but I can find the translated one with out being translated. |
