It's called N-Game, which stands for, of course, Ninja Game. The premise?

You are a ninja. You have superhuman speed and agility due to a lightning-fast metabolism. Unfortunately, this metabolism is also what contributes to your 1.5 minute lifespan. Each level contains gold in it, which gives you more time to live (because everyone knows ninjas eat gold for life), but each level also contains a ton of obstacles that exist solely for the purpose of killing your black-clothed avatar.

I'm only on episode 3... Each episode contains five levels, and there are 99 episodes in all, plus a "level 0" for starters. It's a flash game, and it's suprisingly small, but there's a heck of a lot of depth to it. And if you feel like it, you can download more levels from the website.

Godspeed, little ninja.

Sweet! The massive length of the game really make up for the simple graphics. Ninjas are as awesome as pirates!

Fixed.

This is a sweet game. At least it gets me away from playing Warbears.

I've played this game before, but I eventually got tired of it. I might consider playing it again now that you've brought it up, though.

Episode 0. Level 3.

I got a finger cramp and realized that I only have five seconds to gather gold.

I fail hard.

Well, the game is made easier if you have the JoyToKey program and a ps2 controller converter... Kirbynite was nice enough to tip me off on that. Now I'm running through the levels like mad.

Be sure to download it, though... The online version only has 30 levels.

Oh I got the downloadable version.

By the way, it took me three tries to figure out 'kill' is for killing yourself and not for killing something else.

Any tips of climbing walls or whatever the Ninja does?

All I manage to do is jump and jump and jump and end up in the same spot.

Hold the button down, you'll jump higher. The rest is just good timing. You'll get it eventually.

I gave up at episode 5-1. I'll be on this again when I get back, though...

Interesting. I also stopped at 5-1, although due to boredom.

You just found this game? I heard about this game for a while now from Gamehippo.

Didn't download it until just a few weeks ago when I went to my brother's place. Well... lost interest easily. It was ok, but it wasn't something I could get into.

...meh, I'll stick with Generally...

I decided to try playing this again. Sadly, like every game made in Flash, it eventually caused my computer to freeze up solid. On the bright side, at least it didn't cause an automatic reset like what's been happening lately. I got to the fourth level before it froze on me.

Macromedia Flash Player 8. Has there been an update that I should know about which fixes all the freezing problems?

I played this game a year or more ago, when it was called just "N".

Good game, but it handles lag really poorly. Things move differently under lag conditions, to the point of the same input having different effects under slightly different lag. I remember nearly beating a level, dying, then watching the replay, only to find that the replayed version doesn't die.

This is coupled with generating an inordinate amount of lag. I dunno if they draw all the tiles from scratch every frame or something stupid like that, or if flash just sucks that much, but it's noticable and sucks.

Additionally, the art is really bland. It'd be nice if they drew something different on top of each level. Pagodas and jungles and high-tech robotics factories, instead of grey and... more grey.

>8( And what's wrong with grey, may I ask?

I came back, and I'm addicted again. This is a great way to waste time if you're waiting for an online game to patch, or if you're bored and your DS is still charging its batteries and you don't wanna slow it down by playing, or if you can't sleep and everyone you usually talk to is in bed.

Apparently, Kyouji's on Episode 18 despite hating the game's guts.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Grey's great. But like many great things, it's best used as a spice.

I mean, everyone likes peper, but very few people eat popsickles made of the stuff.

Unless you /want/ me to make a popsickle out of you.
