Nah, definitely the UN. Bush was sending troops to help free bloodpool, but decided to give in to pressure from others saying that the demons there needed to be understood and given a chance to rule as they were only in that region and weren't going from there and attacking Fillmore.

I think it got deleted by terrorists, or maybe it got the bird flu. It's sad to see that the bird flu has started to spread onto computer files, and that terrorists have started to attack innocent saved games.

Well, in this case, technically, God is trying to HELP...though maybe it is His fault in that He got so pissed about the state of things that He decided it would be better if you just started over...hence erasing the save.
