Yes! YES!!! Kirby is apparantly coming onto the Gamecube, with classic gameplay! Here's an article with a teaser screenshot:

I love Kirby. Unfortunately, I haven't come across any Kirby game that I liked as much as Kirby's Adventure and Kirby Super Star. (That GBA game with the ginormous map is fun, but I got lost and moved on to something else and I doubt I'll be able to remember where I left off. ) At any rate, I hope this new game recaptures the fun of the old-school gameplay although it appears to have 3-D graphics. I wonder if it will be functionally 2-D gameplay like the N64 Kirby adventure game (which I didn't really care for...though the idea of combining types of powers was neat, I missed the enemy-specific abilities, and the game just seemed faded and sparse, whereas KA and KSS were colorful, with nicely detailed levels and graphics).

This is old news, but it's still great news . Judging from the video, the game will play like Kirby 64. The physics feel very much like SSBM, I wonder if it might be based on the SSBM engine...

From what I remember from the apparent single video, it plays like Kirby Super Star with 3D graphics, you have the ability to ride on helpers, creating a possible four person stackup, and Kirby riding on certain ones seems to activate a Wheelie Rider style ability, as seen in one screen where he's on the new bird enemy yet has the same cap as the Wheelie Rider screenshot(and original.)

I don't know, it still feels too...complicated, almost...in most of the Kirby games nowadays. The original is still, in my opinion, one of the very best gameboy games there is. And Kirby's adventure builds on that charm immensely. But to some extent, in every game since then, there seems to be a bit too much...they seem to drift from the wondrously simple forumla that made the first two games just that great.

I can't wait for that game. I love Kirby Superstar. I love Kirby 64. This should be awesome. I hope Meta Knight is in this game. And the Halberd. That would be cool.

Looky Here!
It looks like the Kirby graphics are taken right out of SSBM; they look so similar! This is good news, 'cause the SSBM Kirby looks so cool!

It's kinda cool how the partners are differently colored so you can easily tell them apart.

Haha. Three Knuckle Joes. Awesome.

If they bring back the Ninja ability, I'll be happy.

Seeing Plasma brings up my hopes.

I am sure I could beat this game in one day once it came out, but maybe the difficulty would increase this time...

If not, it doesn't matter. I beat KSS in one day and I still play it via emulation...

If the game even comes out... basically if you see it at E3, it'll be out by the end of the year. If not, it's safe to say that the game's Revolution bound.

This game seems good... although the story (Dedede stole Kirby's Warpstar" is mighty dumb... but well, Kirby games are not known for their in-depth storylines (although they do have some interesting plot twists once in a while... especially concerning fake endings and other stuff like that).

My wishlist for this game is:

-This looks like Superstar... but I sure hope that it doesn't have Superstar-level difficulty! Superstar was way too easy! I'm hoping for a Dreamland-level difficulty here (in short, not too hard but actually require some skills).

-02, anyone? Drawcia and the pseudo-02 villain from Amazing Mirror were nice... but I guess that it's time for the big bad Dark Matter queen and her cronies to make yet another attempt at taking over Pop Star. I also hope that Nightmare won't make an appearance unless he's a joke villain (Nightmare is the easiest final boss in the serie and probably the lamest Kirby villain to date).

-The lack of fake endings in Amazing Mirror and Canvas Curse disappointed me, personally. I liked it when the game punished you, storyline-wise, in the earlier games for rushing through the game (the Kirby 64 ending comes to mind. Poor Ribbon...).

But well, those are pretty much just preferences (except for the first point and even then, I'm fairly confident that they're not going to make it too easy).

All in all, I'm looking foward to it.

While we're on the subject of fake endings, here's hoping finishing the game for real unlocks a Meta-Knightmare-esque mode in this one. That was the badass in Nightmare in Dreamland.

If Meta Knight is in this game, I hope he is as awesome as in Airride. Imagine a four player Meta Knight rampage. Oh, how fun that would be.
