Link to SMW Central
Link to Newbie FAQ

SMW Central is a website dedicated to SMW Hacking.

Anyone can visit the site to find ROM offsets, download hacks, find hacking tools, submit documents, upload hacks, and read the Newbie FAQ.

The Newbie FAQ is STRONGLY recommended to read before asking any questions here. (If the answer a question can be found in the FAQ, the thread will most likely be closed.)

If you're interested in linking to SMW Central, we've got two banners for you to place in your signature:

First. Although this topic should have a slightly more descriptive title (you know, describe what the site is about). I knew about this site for quite a while, but you haven't openly told us about it until now.

By the way, if and when I finish my ExGFX Guide, would you mind hosting it? I don't trust the boards as a location for it, plus if I host images on ImageShack, eventually they are going to get removed to to using too much bandwidth.

We've announced the site's existance before. (2 Jan, if I recall correctly.) Also, we've announced updates to the site. Never before in a sticky, though.

And yes, there's a submission system so that anyone can get their stuff hosted. However, due to the risk of someone submitting... inappropriate stuff... submissions has to be accepted by the staff before appearing on the main lists.

Sounds like a silly question, but would I be allowed to post the offsets on the Wiki? I'm planning to put up the ROM offsets (and RAM) on the Wiki for various hacked games, and the purpose is not to make SMWcentral useless but rather make it a complimentary. :/ Of course, it would get credit and stuff, though that wouldn't stop people from adding their own offsets.

People will at some point be able to edit/add their own offsets to the site. Wouldn't a link be good enough?

But eh... if you really want to put it on the Wiki, it's not like I'm going to stop you.

Here it goes

I dunno if I should tell people to just update on both sites regulary or just keep the updates on SMWcentral and the Wiki updates from that. I don't want to beat you guys, but rather just be complimentary. :/

And yes, I do know that the tables needs improvment. They're rather... wierd now and probably have a few leftovers from it's HTML counterpart. They did go through a HTML>Wiki table syntax convertor after all...

What can I say? It's still in progress. I can probably manage to finish it before the end of the week, though.

Call it... umm... ehh... nevermind...

My ExGFX guide is going to be HTML-based, as opposed to being a document, though. I figured it would be a lot easier to read this way, plus everyone (with a brain) would be able to find it. Would that still be all right?

@asdf: Yeah, just put it in a zip file and upload it to the documents section. Edit: Maybe support for "online documents" will be implemented later.

You may now submit your ExGFX.

Most excellent. I just uploaded the two ExGFX files that are going to be involved as examples in my ExGFX Tutorial (SMB2J Graphics and Ocean Background). I'll see if I can get any other old ExGFX files I may still have from the old ExGFX site back. I'll probably have to wait for online documents to be implemented before I can finish it though. The ExGFX section's opening might have motivated me to finish it quickly, though.

EDIT: Yes, I believe that did the trick. I finished the screenshot ripping section yesterday.

I would consider it a personal favor if someone were to upload all of the ExGFX I currently have in the old Workshop (crediting me, of course). And I always reward personal favors.

Juggling Joker: I shall upload all of the old files but right now, I can't approve any files or so it seems.

Hm, when I uploaded the Fix Block Change To 0x400+ patch, I didn't realize it was going to use the "author name" field in a link to my profile. I only submitted it, dunno who made it. Maybe some clarification is needed there.

Also wouldn't it be nice to allow uploading .ips files? That 14-byte patch became a 172-byte zip file, it's more convenient not having to unzip them, and now Windows is being stupid again and not letting me delete the zip.
