Tokyo Godfathers is probably my favorite "anime" movie. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a very good story.
What else... umm... The Place Promised In Our Early Days wasn't too bad. I'd have to watch it again though... |

I've heard that Appleseed (the new one) is cool from people who hate anime. So uh. It might be good.

Depends, would you consider OVA's as movies? The four .hack// OVA's that came with the games are all good, and despite the dislike of Gundam Wing I sometimes see around here, Endless Waltz is an excellent movie. The Cowboy Bebop movie is pretty damn good as well... umm... I dunno, maybe End of Evangelion if you're feeling weird. =/

You've seen them all?
... Well, maybe you should list the ones you haven't seen. Then people who have seen them can tell you whether they're worth it or not. Maybe we should make that the point of this whole thread, for people looking to purchase an anime bu not knowing how it is. Also, just thought I'd toss in FF7: Last Order. Not that much, but it's an interesting view on the events that take place in the game. |

If you haven't seen all of the Studio Ghibli movies, then I suggest all of them.
Nausica, Laputa, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle and The Cat Returns are all good ones which haven't been mentioned yet. |

Yea, we just mention them in every other thread about anime suggestions and whatnot. You forgot Pom Poko and Castle of Cagliostro, btw.(Well that was made by Tokyo Movie Shinsa but it was made by Miyazaki, nonetheless.)
Perfect Blue Wings of Honneamise Patlabor Movie I Patlabor Movie II Steamboy? Char's Counterattack(Which you should watch only AFTER you watch the original gundam movie trilogy and zeta gundam(at the least because I dunno where to get ZZ guaranteed) Duh! Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust! |

Everything KP and Chung said above.
Then you should check out the Hellsing OVA that came out recently. Also check out the Rahxephon movie if you haven't seen the series, it has differences but it was still good. Castle of Cagliostro = Castle in the Sky? If not, Castle in the Sky get's a very high recommendation from me. (another Miyazaki film) |

Obvious one here, but Ninja Scroll.
You haven't seen it, you just lost your right to have a penis. No offense, it would've been easier to give you anime series suggestions. For some reason I feel like simply inventing a anime movie up to see if you will claim to have 'watched it' Dogan pretty much mentioned all of them. You can check out some Slayer movies. There is also Ranma 1/2 OAV's and movies. Oh I also suggest the movie 'Noria the Faith' |

Kai Doh Maru ?
Production I.G. Short. Highly arty. Didn't really get into the plot, but it's interesting visually in a very muted way... like watching a moving, muted watercolor painting sometimes.... It was an experiment... had a lot of potential. Interesting for it's strange visual style. Xeogred -- Castle of Cagliostro != Castle in the Sky. Both Miyazaki though... I never understood what was so great about Ninja Scroll. It seemed decent, but nothing fantastic. But then again, it's been years since I've seen it ...
Other recommendations (OVA's): - Armitage the 3rd, the original. An incredible cyberpunk series, that I'd easily favor over GITS (well, they seem to be somewhat similar). - Iria Zeiram: The setting always makes me think of Star Wars, but maybe that's just me. Tarale: Thanks for the clerification ... |

"Wings of Honneamise" ---> YES. Fucking greatest movie ever.
Millenium Actress is a great movie. Laputa was amazing, probably Miyazaki's best. My only question is...Where the hell is mention of Grave of the Fireflies? That is probably one of the best movies ever made. Ever. Like. Up there with Citizen Kane best movie ever. |
