Since I saw this page's screenshots, from an early development stage of Kirby 64, I've been wondering if the code for the other playable characters is still hidden somewhere in the ROM. So, I've been trying to hack it since them. I downloaded Disassemblers, Emulators, tried hacking a savestate... But I got nothing. I don't have enough knowledge in programming, and my Google searches for offset lists and tutorials resulted in nothing.
If any of you could give me advice in trying to find these codes, hacking this game in general, please tell. Thanks in advance.

Shyguy, that has nothing to do with the topic and you know it. Stop fluffing your post count.

Anyway, being an N64 game and thus very complex, there probably isn't a whole lot of info available. Pardon my ignorance, as I've never played the game, but can you switch characters at all in the final version? If so, I'd imagine you could just change whatever byte(s) holds your current character ID to something beyond the normal range and see what happens. If you don't come up with anything, either there's nothing left over, or you're gonna have to do some digging.

BMF: If I recall, there is no character switching in the final version. Therefore that is an interesting find

I noticed the...shall we call it "Status Bar" with your health, items, and such, is also a different one than the 5 options in final.

....this is an interesting beta, thats for sure

It's not about post count. It's about me having something to say and not have enough words to say it. Trust me. I could care less about post count anymore.

I'll take a look at this game later, as I just finished up a character modifer for Ocarina of Time and I've been looking for other games to manipulate after I fully finish up OOT.

Possibly a proof-of-fact demostration for the poster that I am capable of creating codes to play as different characters on Nintendo 64 games that are only supposed to have one?
If I just said "yeah i will help!! lets go!! im a good hacker!!" he probably will not contact me.

.......point made.

But those screenshots were beta. The topic was about finding some traces of the beta stuff found in the actual ROM.
