Let's not forget how they acquired the name Metallica in the first place.

(The story: In their early days, Lars needed a name for the band. At the same time, one of his friends, I think his name was Ron Quintana (I'm too lazy to look it up), was starting a metal fanzine. He had a list of names, and on this list was "Metallica". Lars saw it, liked it a lot, and said to Ron "Oh, here, pick this other one" (The 'zine ended up with the name Metal Mania)....then basically stole the name for the band)

Yeah, I've heard that story about them ripping off that name from that magazine. And I've also heard that Dave Mustaine (of Megadeth) contributed alot to their early work, as well. I still think it's good music, though.

Though, I must say, I have never bought any of their albums, all downloads. .. but I did buy that documentary..
