Metriod online...I originaly read your post on MFGG. I love MFGG, but haven't posted or anything, though I submitted a game.

The Idea of Metroid Online sounds interesting. The amount of programming that would have to take would be immense and time-consuming, if all of the enemies were playable. I don't think the little programming knowlege I have would help any, but from my experiance, this idea is very ambitious.

This is one of the best ideas ever! I would like to help you in everything I can (nope, i don't know how to make online games ._.)

I prefer the original metroid instead, it's a lot easier and I don't know, i think it matches better with the concept...

There are tons of ideas in my mind XD for example there could be one hospital in each area (except for brinstar since it's bigger and would need two) and you'll go to the closer hospital.

about mods they could have a lot more of energy, be stonger and have access to a map that it shows the location of a user who is reported (there can be a report button unnafected by the game) and they can teleport by clicking there or something, same goes with admins but they're more powerful.
people would be able to chosse any specie (but things like mother brain or maybe rinka that dies when it touches someone) and change the palete of them. If you want I can make a species list with its controls and powerups.

Also not any specie can get any powerups, for example metroids can't get the morph ball (I guess only Samus players can) but tey for example can get something that allows them to shoot.

Aggg... I want to play it now... T_T

Thanks, but... uh... you basically just restated most of the ideas in the thread.

Though I've pretty much given up hope. Nobody I know has the knowledge and the two I do know are too busy. (a.k.a. Kabutroid and V-Bub from Planet Zebeth)

well, first, you should setup some kinda rules or something. Like what kinda help you want and what you want ppl to do and such and if you need help with ripping and moddifying.. I could help, but i never get to motivated if i dont get anyone to work with I hate codeing on my own, it sucks

The music and sprites are easy enough. It could be possible to add cool backgrounds like in Tetris DS, but that might take even more work. For now, we just need to create a program that can communicate between computers and move objects with simple controls.

We could do both. You know, create two versions, one with 8-bit, one with 16-bit, but that might be kinda hard. I'd rather start with 8-bit first.

I reckon we should just do 16-bit. You can pack more detail into a 16-bit sprite, meaning players can have more original characters (There are only so many combinations for an 8-bit sprite). Also, 8-bit is before a lot of people's time (I grew up with 16-bit), so the nostalgia value would be lost on them.

also, if it was 16 bit then there would be less characters... only Samus and some more... while in 8 bit you could play as Kraid... and it would be harder to desing the phisics of the game and harder to the users to customize their own characters...

But this is not my game, so do whatever you want.
