Same here. I'm just glad I placed. I slowed down near the end, however, when I realized that it was just a stupid waste of time. I'm shocked there were no edits to the ACS, though. Some of those people (READ: almost everyone) just started "super-spamming" (so to speak) towards the end of it in order to gain more coins and posts. "Super-spamming" is what I call posts that are considered spam even under conditions where spam is tolerated. .

If there's a spree tommorow, I'm not participating. I'd have rather gone to sleep about 2 hours ago, but I had adredaline... I'm going now though. I had fun.

I was super spamming just because I could and because there were a bunch of people feeling zany. It's the same reason I'll start yelling random doofy crap and acting like an imbecile if I'm hanging out with friends and we're all doing it. It might be a pointless waste of time, and it's not the form of activity that you usually wish to participate in, but if the mood is right, it's fun while it lasts.

And there is good stuff in those monster threads, like the pyramids of cliches and silly video game quotes. And the echoes from the repeated instances of Peanut Butter Jelly Time.

Hopefully some of the members who spammed more than make sensible posts suffer from post burnout and need to take a day or two off.

Hopefully.

All I know is that there is a 98% chance I'll be missing tomorrow's possible Happy Hour (visiting grandparents). But I have enough coins and syndromes to last me for a while!

I don't think it will be much of a problem. The spam was limited to the threads about happy hour. I didn't see it spreading around the board, and I didn't see anybody trying to start it up again after the nutty threads got moved to Lost Threads or closed.

I also wanted to tell Skydude (and anyone else that might feel guilty about encouraging mass quantities of pointless posts) that no apologies are necessary. Like I just said, the spam was contained. It's not like it derailed high-quality threads elsewhere. So maybe it did skew the ACS for a day, but I hardly think that that's anything to be concerned about. If anybody really feels bad about contributing to the zaniness, just come up with more ideas for quality content and don't think of any more fads for a while.

Trust me, I feel so worthless having over 2 billion coins for no good reason but senseless spamming.
I'm on the hunt for a frog coin!

Look at that coin overflow!

Well, Danielle, if it makes you feel any better, you can have many of my coins...or you could if I knew how to give them to you.

Rydain, There is certainly some truth to what you say, it was mostly contained...but I think that even though there's room for some craziness, there's probably some harm in it when it's encouraged quite to that point, as it can cause people to skew their posts in that direction in general in the long run.

Hockey is good stuff.

As for me, 40-something posts and I don't even make the top 10. Awesome.

I don't see a major problem with the spam being contained to a thread or two, though I basically stopped once I had however many coins I have, because it was just pointless to me to continue.

Danielle, don't feel bad, I missed several sprees when I was doing something else back on the old boards. Working sometimes (both on school and later, at my job as a lifeguard), and for one of the first really huge sprees the board had, I came back to the boards after a nice night at the winter formal at my then-girlfriend's school. That was...interesting, let's put it that way.

He's right guys. It's quite entertaining to see some of you are "afraid" of me.

And now watch, the one day I'm not working, and am home most of the day on the comp, there will be no spree.
JUST WATCH.

Yeah, I tend to miss the fun stuff too. Not this one though.

And the rainbow colours just disappeared.

So what exactly does that (NR) by the names mean?

The numbers next to the names refer to the ranking the person had in the ACS the previous day. NR means "not ranked"...as in they were out of the top ten.

And Danielle, MOST days there isn't a spree, so it's not like it would JUST be that one day, to spite you.
