Hi y'all, I'm wondering if any y'all can help me with a bizarre problem in Access (which I think makes no sense to be a problem; NO SENSE AT ALL!). Here follows:

I set up a query, in which there are 3 columns, with 2 of the columns supposed to be invisible when the query is run. The first column sets up the count of the number of times a specific item has appeared in a field and stores it in an expression, the second column takes the expression and multiples it by 10 and stores it in a second expression, and the third column takes that second expression and adds a "%" to the end of it.

Here's where the problem appears. Well, when all 3 columns are visible (with the Show checkbox checked), the query runs fine and that third column shows exactly what I need it to. However, for the first 2 columns that are supposed to be invisibile, to work in the background, when those columns' Show checkboxes are unchecked, then every time I run the query, it asks me for the parameter in one of the 2 expressions. It opens up the "Enter Parameter Value" window and asks me to give the parameter. That does not make any sense at all to me, why it has to ask me for the parameter just because the expression column is invisible when the query runs.

Because my teacher would disapprove, I will not put the MDB on-line, but any person with access can set this up themselves and see. It would be most helpful if y'all could help me get around this stupid problem that shouldn't even be a problem. Thanks.

EDIT: I tried to get around it by making 2 queries, but it still asked me to "Enter Parameter Value" for each of the expressions which weren't in the expression.
