| I'm trying to insert names of 2 pokemon I made into the game. When I insert the names 1 of 2 things happens to it. 1). It adds extra spaces after the name I enter. 2). During the game when the name comes up, it adds other pokemon's names after the name I entered like "Dragma Magcargo" . I heard somewhere that the names have to have equal amount of letters for it to fit right, and both of them do. If needed, I'm changing Slugma to Dragma and Magcargo to Flamedra. | Okay. In the ROM, there's a big-ass list of names. Each entry has a fixed length:
SLUGMA [terminator byte] [filler bytes] MAGCARGO [terminator] [filler] ... What I think PokéTronic did is: DRAGMA [filler] MAGCARGO [terminator] [filler] ... No terminator for Dragma. So the game reads it -literally- as "DRAGMA MAGCARGO", ending at Magcargo's terminator. |
