I recently started to messing with sprite data and I've made my first custom sprite, here a pic

Its a Metroid who track Mario
Metroid_demo.IPS
apply the patch to an unmodifed rom and enter yoshi Island 1 to find the metroid

comment?suggestion for improvement?

Great work, Bio! I love how it doesn't go through anything. but ZSNES crashes when you go about halfway through the level, near the rex.
and when I tested this, the metroid looked like a red berry.

But 2 Questions,

1: Is this supposed to be in the
Advanced ROM hacking forum?

2: I would like to see a ''Venus Fly Trap''
from SMB3 in SMW. (Remember the Beta!)

he using the berry tilemap, but I though I overwrited the GFX, I will look into that too
I will also try to make it so the metroid will be 32x32, like the real one, but it seem that sprite size is in a unidentifed sprite table

Until the major bugs are worked out, it's not very useful. But damn, man. Mikeyk's demo is the only thing I know to change a sprite like this. If more people start hacking sprites, SMW hacking will never be the same.

I disagree, Glyph Phoenix. It's not like there's a "thought-to-ASM" code device out there, and it's unlikely we'll ever see one. Simply put, there are too few people out there willing to learn the coding process. Only the really big time hackers would be able to code good custom sprites.
