| I don't smoke.
Obvious reasons being health. I have ashthma, it would be hell for me. Especially since I run quite a bit. My mother smokes. Her choice. A waste of money and what used to be a good pair of lungs. |

| I don't, nor do I plan to. I know that some people like my parents use it to help calm them down. If I'm ever really stressed, I might, but I highly doubt it since I've always been agaisnt it. The second hand smoke gives me nosebleeds. I can't stand it. Well, I just have a limit of how much I can be around so if I were to smoke it might cause problems. So no for me. | |||

| I don't smoke, I never will, I frown on those that do.
I'm not crazy anti-smoking, but I dislike it more than most. My grandpa died from lung cancer due to smoking. My mom smoked (she recently quit as a new year's resolution, woot) since she was 18, my older brother and sister both smoke...I've seen all the negatives of it, and it's made up my mind about whether or not I ever want to. Plus, it stains your teeth and makes you smell bad. I just don't see any positives in it, as there are plenty of other ways to relieve stress. |

| I smoke occaisionally. It's relaxing. I don't over-smoke. A pack will last me 2 weeks or so... and that includes giving alot of them away.
Live and let live... I always say. People will do what they will. Just as long as they're not hurting anyone. |

| I think humanity as a whole would be far better off without smoking.
I don't do it, and I encourage people I care about not to start. Really, it's the same as my stance on alchohol, and just about anything that can, I don't know, kill you. I've been criticized about not taking many risks. I don't understand that argument. I think it's a far better idea to live in safety than to slowly (or quickly) kill myself. But it's okay with me if people I don't know want to. I'd rather they didn't, because it's sad when people die. But it's not my place to tell random people not to. It's their choice. And that's why I think suicide should be legal. |

| I'm extremely opposed to smoking. It is at the point where I have no respect for smokers. I fail to see the point in it outside of social value. Sure, with Alcohol you can get drunk, and with Cocaine you could get high, but there is absolutely "benefit" to smoking. It's pointless. | |||

| I've never smoked, been around smokers all my life, still today. When I was little I liked the smell, I don't know what ran through my head then. Now I can't stand it. I can tell its harder to breathe and it sucks. I have friends who used to smoke, once they stopped, they said it's a lot better when they stopped. I'm not an anti smoker person, I believe people have the right to choose to smoke if they want to. | |||

| I smoked in high school. Not very much, but I did, mostly as an experimental thing. I didn't like it all that much, it hurt/irritates/tickles my throat and made me cough, but the nicotine high was "fun" for a while so I persisted with it for a short time. I don't think I smoked longer than 6 months and very occasional.
However, this little bit of smoking rubbed off on me, and now I'm a "social" smoker. Meaning that if I get drunk... really drunk.. suddenly I want a cigarette. Or five. It's a really bad, drunken habit. As for smoking, I really don't mind other people smoking but I actually prefer it if you don't do it around me. It still makes me cough, second hand smoke can sometimes make my breathing really uncomfortable. My mother is a real busybody when it comes to other people's smoking. She tells smokers off and everything (whether she knows them or not!) Her shock is rather hilarious the few times I've gotten drunk in front of her and smoked. Her partner smokes too when he's drunk and when we both do it she goes purple and tells us we're both hopeless! (edited by Tarale on 02-23-06 07:34 PM) |

I don't care if someone does it or not, its their choice, my best friend smoked for about a year. (He was like 14 or 15 I think.) He didn't get addicted to it, he just plain stopped. I used to be anti-smoking, but I don't think anyone has the right to be anti-anything that doesn't directly effect them. |
