| 42 staff members minus the possible ~10 that could be removed, plus asking the less active ones to reconsider... it would do us a lot of good.

| Yeah, and besides that... how often are staff applications actually open like that? Usually if staff needs a new mod, we simply pick one who we think would be good. Admins are the same way, deciding who will be promoted. It's pretty rare to have a bunch of people apply. =\ | |||

| Way back when. Acmlm had staff applications. I believe they occurred when the entire staff was redone and everyone below Acmlm and a few others were demoted and had to reapply once again.*
If you go back, and look at the 03 board, you can read what people said and wrote. I remember reading through Colin's reapplying post for the Admin position. For some reason it is always stuck in my mind. *This is just general theory since I was not a member at the time so I am guessing this is what happened from the posts I read a looooooong time ago. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong |

| I don't even like applications anyway; I'd rather just ask someone I trust and who would probably do a good job if they'd like the position. Applications -- especially the way they were done here -- were based off of who could write the best "mod me for these reasons," almost nothing else was considered aside from how many people you could get to say "recommend me plz."
Besides, we're in the middle of a staff downsizing, so... yeah. |

| From what I've seen in the last application frenzy, and what I've heard about the one before that, it seems like applications just cause overstaffing rather than staff equilibrium. Even if you lost 10 staff, you'd probably be up to 52 after applications. | |||
