They only lost one full mod, who is coming back. (Alastor) If you mean YD going from Admin to Fullmod, well consider it an exchange because Ailure went from Fullmod to Admin. Aside from that, I really don't think anyone else is gone/leaving/dying. Edit: Whoops. I overlooked Cymoro. | Here's everything that seems to have happened, based on whatever I could figure out, and in the order that happened:
- Hiryuu left (real-life problems) and won't be back for a while - Ailure promoted while Hiryuu's gone - Xkeeper leaves for a while on break from board - YD demotes self to full mod for unknown reasons - Ailure's promotion changed to permanent because of that - Kyouji left (permanently?), and was demoted - Cymoro's leaving and was demoted (more real-life stress) So, we've lost 4 staff members (Hiryuu, Xkeeper, Cymoro, Kyouji), had one demoted (Yoshi Dude), and promoted one (Ailure)... Out of the total staff count, this isn't a whole lot (and some staff are only gone for a while and will be back), so I wouldn't exactly say we're in trouble... if the board loses about 5 more, then maybe we might end up seeing some promotions, but it doesn't seem likely.  |

| Actually, I am on break (trying to avoid here for a while to do other things, like rpgimg)... which is why I promoted Ailure at first, anyway.
And you can add another person, Toxic leaving too due to being so inactive lately... Oh well, hopefully no one else leaves lately.  |

| And Hiryuu will be back, we just don't know when. Cy and Kyouji are still up in the air, from what I can tell. Ailure was promoted to admin just for this reason, it was a smart move.
Only difference is the amount of LMs vs FMs vs admins. |

Returning this board to smaller staff sizes and adding in a "Flag Post" feature would be nice, too, as it would alert mods to specific problems instead of having to patrol all forums. -- Note to self: Consider "Flag Post" feature... |

It a shame Ziff's leaving, though, even if he does keep closing threads just before I go to post in them. Maybe two was a bit of an exaggeration, but I think a few good mods is better than a bunch of ok mods. But then again, I've never ran a forum, so I guess I can't say for certian what works. |

| Well, I did some thinking (probably why my head hurts, heh) tonight along with someone else, and yes, we could potentially drop quite a few staff members, mostly out of sheer inactivity.
- Kasumi Astra, though I'd keep her as LM-o-nothin'... inactive - BMF54123, back to local of ROM hacking and friends... accidental promotion* - Melvin, to normal user... inactive, though he might come back soon - DahrkDaiz, to LM or demoted**... inactive - Kirbynite, to local of SF... inactive everywhere else - Staff clones, because they serve no purpose - Imajin, to normal user***... mixed reasons - Dex, demoted... inactive - Jack-Al, demoted...seems to show up occasionally but never posts or talks in staff forums - MouseJstr, demoted... he has nothing to do with the board Even just this list alone lowers the rank of 25% of staff now, taking 12%~ off staff entirely... I might bring this up in staff forums now to see what others think, but... these aren't all going to happen (and all at once), but mostly to see how few staff we can get by with. Less staff generally means less drama and less bickering amongst them. I think the addition of a 'Flag Post' feature -- as some other boards have -- would help 'patrol' the whole board by fewer people, as we wouldn't need seperate mods for every forum anymore; any mod could check up on flagged posts and report them (or act on them) as nessacary... and we could always ban people who abuse the system

Thoughtless, MouseJstr is simple the owner of this server... he's doing the finances (and get the excess money...). He have nothing to do with the board anyway.

| I'm staying on for a while, as long as it takes to prep someone to take over for me...and I'm not even sure if the leave is a permanent thing. It's just that my first year of university is winding down and I want to try to pull up my grades, plus I have a lot of big, high-stress decisions to make. It's a nasty lil' thing - life. Plus, summer time might be very hectic (I'm bringing a semi-completed project out of limbo and going to start fishing around for publishers and I'll be trying to submit a few papers to undergrad journals) what with work and the possibility of travel. :o
Anyways, yeah. I've always thought of leaving permanently (for non-board and boardom reasons), but I can never seem to do it because I like you guys however it seems that the stars are aligned against me. Big time. |
