I honestly can't say I'm too crazy about it. It's nice, yeah, but those trees... aren't the best. =\

Might I suggest ripping some OoS/OoA trees, using the tops as 16x16 tiles(to emulate ZC-ish layering), and adding a bit more shading to the tops? That'd really spruce them up.

Just in case you didn't know. SMCs have got 0x200 byte headers. (200 hex = 512 dec)

I mean will it go into the forest area later? where does it come from? does the pipe on one side of the fence go to the other side of the fence?

Looks like some kid laid out a bunch of toys in their back yard. Interesting, it reminds me of those days when I was little, I made my little city out of books, legos, and scattered cars all over my room.

ghettoyouth, maybe you could rip the trees from this screenshot...? They're a bit better than the ones you have there... (You don't have to include the multiple colors, though. )

Uhh...Bloodstar? He's kind of using LTTP tiles. I don't think the Pure set's Gameboy oriented tiles would fit his overworld - even if they were recolored.

Seriously awesome. Wish I'd thought of it.

Interesting, but Mario's and the level's bright colors and black lines clash with the background. It's not BAD, but it looks like Mario and the levels aren't really there.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. It can just be like a really detailed map like you'd find on Google or something.

Only thing I suggest is replacing the pipes with holes in the ground or caves. Clever use of bushes the way SMW used trees in Forest of Illusion's map would also be a nice touch.

They just... don't fit in. At all. The first palette looked far better if you ask me.

Well... The trees look better, themselves. As long as they remain completely shaded... switching their palette shouldn't make them look TOO odd.
