OK, I'm done with all my levels, but now I'm confused. I saw some tutorials and FAQs, but there's still one very important question that I'm about to ask. How do I edit the graphics of the overworld editor? I mean, I know how to copy an 8x8 or 16x16 square already on it, but totally remaking the overworld would take forever doing that. Is there some other way to graphics edit the overworld? Sorry if that's a stupid noobish question, but I just got Lunar Magic yesterday and I'm fairly new at this stuff. Thanks.

Boot up your tile editor, open AllGFX.bin, go to the overworld tiles, and start editing. Alternatively (usually the better option if you don't want to sacrifice stuff), you can go through the same process as you do to make your own ExGFX (in a tile editor), except you're making overworld tiles, of course. Then you simply have to plug in the correct GFX settings in the overworld editor, and the new tiles will be ready for use.

Tile editor? No wonder I'm having trouble. When you say tile editor, is that the one in Lunar Magic? If not, is it my graphics editor? Or is it a whole new program that I have to download? I'm confused.

Your graphics editor will do just fine, I suppose. Which one do you use, YY-CHR, TLP, or some other editor?

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7, although some time soon I'm planning on getting Corel Paint Shop Pro X.

Now, I have another question. What is ExGFX? Sorry for all my questions, but as I said above, I'm fairly new to this Super Mario World ROM editing stuff.

Actually, scratch what I said earlier. You'll need a proper TILE editor, such as the afformented YY-CHR. ExGFX means Extra Graphics, and is a hack that Lunar Magic installs into a hack to allow for the use for more graphics than normally available. See the ExGFX workshop thread and Lunar Magic's help file for more information; although I am working on an ExGFX tutorial, it isn't completely finished yet. The good news is I have done all the basic sections, I just need to do the advanced ExGFX sections (IE: tile creation) and it'll be finished.

OK, I think I'm starting to get it now. The next and hopefully last question is:

Where is AllGFX.bin located? Do I need to extract the files inside it first? I have PowerArchiver to extract them and install them back in.

I'm ahead of myself...

No. In Lunar Magic, go to options and check "Use Joint GFX" or something like that. Then extract the graphics in Lunar Magic. Now you have your AllGFX.bin in the Graphics folder that is in the same folder as your hack.

THEN you can edit it in a tile editor.

Oh, I did something similar and extracted the wrong graphics. When I tried opening it in YY-CHR, it was all garbled up. I'm going to try what you said.

OK, I just tried, and now everything is garbled up. Is this normal, or do I need to use a different tile editor?

-Edit: I tried using the SNES palette and it worked, but now I have a new problem. Where is the layout? That's the only part I want to change. You know, the big image with the hills and water and stuff.
