| You are given the choice as to what will happen to a rather large percentage of the human race. But you have to make one of the choices given. Upon your decision, all of the people smarter than you, or all of the people less smart than you, as determined by some omniscient entity (i.e. not me, so I'm not sure of the criteria for definitions of intelligence), will die, and let's just say they disappear so you don't need to worry about burying them.
Consider the options: If you kill everyone smarter than you, then you will be the smartest person on the planet, bar none. However, that also means that the planet won't have any of the great geniuses who are responsible for a lot of really wonderful inventions and policies and the like. If you kill everyone stupider than you, then the planet will be populated solely by the more intelligent members of the species. This might lead to some decrease in the supply of labor, but that also means you don't need to worry about the stupid people...doing stupid things. You'll only have smarter people around. On the other hand, that means that you are without a doubt the stupidest person on the planet. |

| I'd kill the stupid people.
The smart people would know that I just saved them all, and would treat me with respect because I let them live. I'd be a stupid hero, and hey, I'll take that. 
And furthermore, intelligent people are bound to be able to devise some sort of plan in that situation. I can't imagine the stupid people being better off. |

| I would definitely kill the stupid people. But then there would be the slight problem of what if I'm smarter than a vast majority, say 98% (yeah, I'm THAT arrogant), of the people worldwide? It's quite possible that the resulting smart people might not be numerous enough to keep the human race going, especially when you consider that they're probably spread out pretty evenly over the surface of the planet, and it would be hard to travel when there aren't nearly as many people to service airplanes or automobiles.
However, I would probably find this preferable to keeping the stupid ones. At the time I would probably decide that humanity is better off nonexistant than full of idiots, and only idiots. At least there would be a sharp decrease in the possibility of nuclear war. But either way, it would cripple modern society. We rely heavily on both the intellectuals and the dumb masses to hold together an economy in which new products will be designed, manufactured, and sold... And without an economy there would be no modern conveniences. So the quality of life would fall sharply, until either the population went up again or, as could happen, the smart people create a robotic workforce. That's another reason for keeping the literati; they'd have an easier recovery with their amazing (duh, they're smarter than ME) brains. So yeah, the stupid shall die. |

| Let's take away all the people stupider than me, and here are the reasons why:
In my opinion, living life is about bettering oneself in every regard. Therefore there is nothing wrong with currently being the stupidest person on the planet so long as there are others which you can learn from and grow. Just because you are stupid now does not mean that you have to remain that way. The choice is yours. At the very least, if you so choose to accept your current rank of stupidity in the gene pool, you can rest with the knowledge that it offers an unprecedented level of security in that things are getting taken well care of for you, and you have little worries in that regard. Stupid people are more likely to let things go to hell and push the button and get it over with and kill each other than smarter people. Who's company would you rather be in? Being the smartest person on the planet and watching everyone destroy themselves as you preach to them until you are blue in the face while they do it anyway is a miserable, lonely existence. Stupidity to me is not a measure of how much you already know but how much you are willing to be open-minded and learn and how quickly you can do so, and also entails the ability to look inside and see the truth in oneself. With that being said, I find that in my daily life, people I consider beneath me in the brains department are the largest source of my frustration and anxiety. Imagine the stress and the early heart attacks that can be avoided if these people no longer existed! You'd actually live longer. You'd eventually be a better teacher, because your students would be better learners. And there would always be something for you to yet learn which validates your reason to continue on through this life. Oh, and no worries about those who belittle you because they know that you are beneath them on some level. Smarter people, at least the ones I'm talking about, will not do that, and will respect you for what you are whatever that is and lovingly and gently encourage you to become more if that's possible. [A good philosophy for ROMhackers in general to employ, by the way!  ]

Theoretical question: What if you were the smartest person in the world or the stupidest person in the world? Given that, what if you made the choice to kill all people smarter than you or stupider than you respectively? And what happens if you kill yourself (physically, as in suicide) or get killed before you make the decision?  |

| Kill the stupid ones. Just because everyone else is smarter than me doesn't mean I'm not smart. Besides, they're the ones who would die if nature had anything to say about it.
Though what about the people who are of equal intelligence? |

| Well I honestly have to say that intelligence cannot be measured in degree of intensity. It's a lot more complicated than that. So I'm not sure who would be killed by either one of my decisions here. | |||

But...with the stupid people gone...that means I become the new form of stupid. And I would be the next to die.  Oh well...at least the world would be, all told, a better place in the long run...albeit by questionable means.... |

| Kill the stupid while they aren't weary of what's going on. Because, believe it or not, stupid people attacking in high numbers can cause a great amount of damage. Killing all the stupid people, I like that. That means a good 99% of America would be destroyed and Jerry Springer would have to be cancelled because everyone would most likely be able to solve their differences in a civil manner, FOR ONCE! | |||

But, being me... I'd definatly kill all the stupid people. Yeah, I'd be the dumbest person on the planet... but smart people would be able to accomplish much more without the stupid people weighing them down. And I'd love to believe that there are more smart people than stupid in the world. And I believed if only smart people lived in the world... we'd opt for socialism... because we'd all be rational and tolerant enough to do so. The world would be more peaceful. |
