That's right. I'm so lazy that I'm completely foregoing using my mouse. I challenge you all to go for as long as you can without doing this.

So far I'm pushing like, 20 minutes now. I've realized that once you get the hang of it, this is actually a hell of a lot faster than using a mouse...

My mouse on this comp is battery powered. They've died quite a few times, and I haven't had replacements.
I've browsed the board plenty of times with no mouse. It's not difficult, just gotta be patient.

I just hold down Tab. I'm pretty good at knowing when to stop, and my keystroke repeat rate is pretty high. My one problem is in GAIM...

Well, I can use either. Sometimes I only use the mouse for scrolling, and do the rest with the keyboard. xD Tab is useful, and so is ctrl+tab, and ctrl+shift+tab.

It's really nothing to brag about being a keyboard only user, as there's even user enviroments in Linux made for that. Graphics but made for being keybaord friendly.

When I'm not browsing the internet or drawing, I'm usually using the keyboard. It's faster to just hit "Ctrl+V" than right click and paste...

Of course, what's even faster is the little mouse nubs on laptops; they're between the B, G, and H keys and make it super-easy to change from keyboard and mouse, so it's sometimes faster to just use it instead.

Bah. I never browse the internet with no mouse. And I donīt need batteries in my mouse either.

I donīt like wireless things as the batteries always dies when you donīt want them to.

I use the tab function for threads there are no links for.

I actually browsed this thread using the tab key. First time for me.

Watch I subconsciously use my mouse in the next 2 minutes and fail at this thread.

Whenever there are a lot of links...like on a message board...I really can't stand using tab to choose the right one, especially if you miss it. For other things, though, I tend to use the keyboard about as much as possible, particularly for copy/pasting.

Shift+Tab. Scrolls backwards through the links.

The only thing the keyboard is REALLY useful for is typing. Sure you can use the onscreen keyboard... but thats more work than its really worth =/

Using the keyboard to pick a link is a pain. However I do use a lot of keyboard shortcuts, and tend to scroll using the arrow keys.

And scrolling. Don't forget the ease of pressing PageUp or PageDown instead of having to screw with the scrollbar.

I actually prefer the precision of the scrollbar. I can put text exactly where I want it quite quickly, instead of hitting page up/down and then making further adjustments with the arrow keys.

Better than both, though, is the mousewheel. Man do I ever wish I had a mousewheel style thing on this laptop...

I agree that the scroll bar is more precision than the arrows, wheel and page keys, but I personally only use it over great distances. I guess it's just that "right brained VS. left brained" stuff.

I fail to see how logic against aesthetics has anything to so with this.

I think he was referring to the switch in control of motor coordination that translates in between the two halves of the brain.

Yech. Touchpads sucks, IMHO. Luckily we have mice for our computers in school. Took a while for them to arrive when we first got the computers when I started there.

I love the scroll wheel on my mouse.

Is the plural of the electronic mouse... mice?
We may never know. (Unless someone does... seriously, I have no idea.)

My sister never uses a mouse. I'd probably implode if I didn't have my mouse. It has "back" and "foward" buttons on the side so I can browse from page to page easily... and it has this button that brings up all the windows you're running and you can click any one from wherever your mouse is (you don't have to go to the bottom..). It's more of a luxary than a necessity though. And I absolutely love scrolling with the scrolly rolly button. It's yummy.

I generally don't like keyboards. I wish I didn't have to type with one. I wish I could just talk out loud and have it come up as text... or something like that. Or like.... write it on a pad and have it transpose itself into text. That would put more meaning into posts.... because you'd have to think alot more before you wrote it all time. Cause me writing this post out... would take probably ten times as long. So, planning would improve? Maybe.

Random thoughts.
