Hello everyone! I'm pretty new to this whole hacking business, and I'm slowly but surely learning the ins and outs of Lunar Magic. I'm currently just toying around, trying to understand all of the basic features, design and such. I think I've got a pretty good understand of how the level system works, but I've run into a wall on overworld editing. When I open up the 8x8 tile selector, I see what is largely a garbled mess. Is this what I'm supposed to build an overworld out of? If so...how? I see it works by the usual copy-and-paste clicking business but...that still looks like a mess. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

That 'garbled mess' is exactly what OW's are made of. basically, use those individual tiles to make your OW, by arranging them nicely in the OW editor.

Yes, it is supposed to be that way. You use those tiles in combination with the Flip X/Flip Y options to get all the tiles you need to make an overworld. A word of advice, though. Square overworlds are bad.

Alright, that's cool. One more question: Is there any way to make the tiles in the selector larger so I can see them better?

Unfortunetly, no. You'll just have to improve your eyesight or something. Maybe with the magnifier program that Windows XP has, but that's really just a waste of time and space. It's faster to do it without. Trust me, you'll get used to it. (edited by babelfish on 02-19-06 11:49 PM) |
