That is the farthest thing from the truth. I wish that conservatives would lose their god damned persecution complex.

My friend is a flaming homosexual AND a conservative. I guess that means that he is a bigot! Wait? Nope! Peter is economically conservative, yet is socially progressive. I guess that must make him a far left communist!

edit:: and I just figured something out! Whenever a conservative knows that they are wrong they pull out the "I'm a persecuted person because I'm a Christian Conservative!". I think it appeals to the more intelligent person's sense of egalitarianism and tries to guilt them into thinking that they should feel bad for little ickle-sickle conservative. From here on out I'm going to ignore this bleeding stupidity and show of weakness.

I'm speaking partly from experience as a moderate who has had this happen to me.

So I'm not even conservative and yet this happens to me. It's not a persecution complex because it's what actually occurs, at least on my college campus.

In my old high school and college campus...I'm astrocized and attacked (more than once physically during high school) constantly. And by terms of Canadian left - I'm to the centre of the spectrum. By conservatives. Many of whom have points I agree on.

So, does that mean that whenever something happens where someone disagrees with me I declare that I'm persecuted and maligned? Not really.

This is the problem. Gender and Sexual Orientation are FAR from boolean. They are highly complex , organic systems. They are governed by a combination of genetics and upbringing. If you're a software engineer, you'll know that if you get your model wrong, you'll end up with an inaccurate representation of the real world. You cannot simplify a complex human bahaviour as a boolean, it's short-sighted and shows a lack of understanding of gender and sexual orientation. Garbage in, garbage out, remember?
I myself feel attracted to male and female people indescriminately, and attracted to different things in either sex. I can be described as Male and Female by different criteria, and so have no solid point of reference when it comes to sexual orientation and gender. I am effectively in the middle, but prefering female. I am living proof that gender and sexual orientations outside absolute male and absolute female exists in nature. Care to fit me into a boolean pigeon-hole?

With 2 true/false values there are 4 possible outcomes. Of course it is possible for people to change their stance over time, but at any given moment all people would fit into one of the 4 catagories. I dont see how its possible not to fit into one of the 4 catagories. Someone give me an example of someone who does'nt. Its like asking someone what their sex is, either male, female, hermaphodite or eunoch, and then getting the reply "mammite-verion-tublu". The machine does not compute!

You are bi-sexual, because you can see yourself in either a homosexual or heterosexual relationship. I'm not seeing the gray area you are. Yes, i understand that there are various degrees of attraction one way or the other, but it can still be loosely defined as bisexual.
Also, i think such labels are actually useful, because then people know whether its feasible for them to pursue a relationship with the person they are attracted to.

Buddy, I think you lost one of the more important parts of that post. Read it a few times and see if you can get the thrust of it after that.

Not really. In fact, that's like saying the difference between a gay and a straight are no more than semantics. _¬

No, it's more like calling a heterosexual person "gay," but intending it to mean that the person is attracted to the opposite sex. Wrong term, right intention.

_ <--- See, I can use condescending smilies too.

Edit because the smilie doesn't show up. Needless to say, it's the same one Ziff used...

Ok, you're a person of ambiguous gender whose sexual preference is bisexual. No misuse of terminology there - satisfied?

I'm not going to "guess" anymore. By her own admission (though with more specific terminology), she is a person of ambiguous gender. Also in her own words, she is attracted to people of either gender. So, she is a person of amibiguous gender who is bisexual.

I'm not about to submit and think up some ludicrous politically correct phrase to describe it. That is in no way an attack on Kasumi or the gay community; if she or anyone else takes offense to it, it is because that person would rather place a happy-friendly-rainbows and butterflies label on everything in this country, instead of the more practical solution of having people grow thicker skins.
