I was just looking around the internet earlier and I found a site that says how to get luigi in on official, unedited SM6 Rom! However, I think it may be fake...I'm going to try it out to see if it works. Since I'll probably going to fail, I'd like someone else to try it out too. Here's the site where I found the tip:

If it doesn't work, you can always try the other 5 bazillion methods of getting Luigi you'll find on other AOL sites.

You know, I seen that picture with two Mario's years ago.

I wonder how many "code" sites have that picture. xD I actually tried some of thoose things, but more out of boredom than gulliability.

If anyone finds a procudure to find Luigi, it's more likely a freaky glitch than a feature.

Edit: Hmm, I probably seen that site before even. It's six years old. xDDD Honestly, if it was true then it would been all over the net by now.

Yeah, I've heard that one before. I like how it says you have to hold the joystick up to get it miscalibrated, then reset it in-game. Too bad the calibration and reset are all handled by the controller logic. The game doesn't even register any buttons being pressed when you press L+R+Start.

Also that two Marios trick, the pic looks fake enough, but you can also do it easily with a Gameshark. There's a code that creates a duplicate Mario where you're standing, he moves his body but stays in one spot.

The one where you see Luigi in the waterfall does sound interesting, but given the requirements I'm guessing it's BS.

It's funny how you're supposed to count the number of times the box slides, despite the fact that it's sliding before you can see it. And it's funny how it requires the "antilog" stick to be held. And it's funny how you're supposed to "butt slam" the first pillar in the mirror room when two of them are equally spaced from the door.

Hell, I think "butt slam" is the best thing ever. What's your favorite sex position move? Does it involve the "antilog" stick?

Ahh...yes. The absurdity of video game rumors on the internet in early 2000. They don't make 'em like they used to.

(in other words, they're fake, but a lot better than the stuff circulating today due to the insane goals you must accomplish in order to supposedly get the reward)

I _love_ the shadow under Mario in that last picture. And how he managed to mess the shadow up THAT much on one copy of Mario but not the other.

I found this video on google looking for SSBM stuff a while back.
I remembered it when I saw this thread so I thought I'd post it.
Not sure how legit the video is, dont really even care but it is interesting

I figured it was Mario 64 DS at first but you can easily tell its not if you look at the Luigi Model.

Reasons why this is an obvious fake:

1) Doesn't show how to actually get him. Mario isn't even present.

2) The video's frame rate is very, very low. Someone bored enough could easily have edited every frame by exporting them as images, Photoshopping them and importing them back into one very choppy video.

3) When "Luigi" is in the castle's main room, his hat seems to shift through several different shapes and sizes.

4) Luigi is the same height as Mario. In fact it's exactly the same model, except with the red parts turned green.

5) While things like his legs and gloves are sharp, all the green areas are blurry. It really looks exactly like someone went over them with the Paint tool in Photoshop.

6) No sound to verify that it's Luigi's voice.

7) In several frames after "Luigi" first goes outside, his head is squished and part of his nose is cut off. This is corrected as soon as his head moves, suggesting that the same image was copied and pasted into each frame where Mario's head didn't move.

Also, there is a Gameshark code that turns the red parts of Mario green. The information posted in the Mario 64 threads also explains how to make a much better fake.

Guys, did you ever read the description of the video? It clearly says "Patch design.: Marc". That means that is a hacked version of the game made to have fun.

Hm, no, I didn't notice that. Though it still looks very fake, and it says he was found hiding behind the star. That could mean it's supposed to be a patch that unlocks Luigi.

As for still being Mario's head, I figured you could write that off as "Nintendo just didn't bother changing it". There is no Luigi head scorebar icon, at least not near the Mario one.

You don't know how many fake Luigi codes contain a variation or such of that part.

Also isn't a single voice sample in the game containing the words Luigi, or one that would even remotly sound like him

This is true, but I bet the Mario voices could be distorted to sound lile Luigi. All the voices in that game are already very distorted from what they really are anyway. And especially since Nintendo randomly switches between Luigi's good voice (as in Mario Kart 64) and that shitty Mario-like one.
