| I agree completely. First of all I dont like these new FAQs, if Im expected to follow the rules Id at least like to be treated with some respect.
As for the favoitism its really gotten out of hand. I get warned for being stupid, and Im glad you guys do it because I stop. However others are left to do as they please, and that just isnt right. |

The board has the same level of stupidity it has always had. If I am remembering correctly, there was a dry spell that lasted for a while untill Xkeeper started messing around with things. If you want to go in a cycle, do it, but its pointless. |

| Perhaps a compromise is in order, then. Put up the old FAQ, though of course it likely requires some updates at this point, as it's practically the same as it was when I left, and have the new one there as the 'quick & dirty' version for people who don't want to go through the longer one. The short one can be the Cliff's Notes for the longer one, essentially. But the longer, more detailed, and less aggressive one certainly has some value. | |||

| I think there are a couple points to be made regarding respect. There is certainly some respect that must be earned, and there's some truth to your point. However, there is also the respect due a fellow human being commonly referred to as 'courtesy' which seems to be lacking at times. Even if not everyone is deserving of 'respect' because, well, they haven't done anything, I think a certain degree of courtesy is due everyone...at least to a point. That point, however, lies far out there, and the response when that is reached should not be looking down on the person in one's posts, but simply ignoring that person. There's no need to be denigrating. | |||

| I find myself agreeing with Legion, which doesn't happen often.
And really, Skydude nailed it, sort of. People should be confronted when they don't make sense or are doing something wrong. They should be confronted civily though, explained exactly why they're being warned, and why it is wrong. Not told that they're a moron and shouldn't be posting in the first place, because then you're hitting that spot where people want to lash back at you for lashing out at them. And for some reason, people are forgetting that watching truely stupid people is fun. |

Sure some people just don't have a clue at times. That doesn't mean they're stupid. That just means they want to be pwned. Okay, bad example but still. calling everybody stupid is a sign of emo. If you were a regular right now, you'd be hacking the board again, Xk. You're mental. As for this whole fiasco, we could've had a better approach to this than having the leader of the board crying that people are making his brain hurt by not knowing better. Like maybe asking what people mean by their posts. That'll usually clear things up. It's not hard to do. Shouldn't be needed, but not hard to do. |

| Personally, I like the new FAQ a little. The old one had more information, but the new one blinks and definitely gets the point across. I hope the stupid people learn their lessons soon... also, don't mess with administrators or you're going to get zapped. It's like yelling at the police for enforcing the law, and it's probably going to end the same way, too.
I'm really really glad that all QFT posts and stuff are abolished. They were totally getting on several of my nerves, if not all of them. |
