No, seriously, it's the name of some Freeware Japanese fighter.

Does it not look bizarre?

Anyway, I've been trying to download it from a host of different websites, but the download seems to always stop prematurely for some reason...

If anyone here bothers to try it out, let me know if it's worth the effort. I can't figure out why it won't download all the way, but t does look very amusing.

Super Cosplay War Ultra? Seems a bit strange to make a video game starring people who are cosplaying. Why not just use anime drawings instead?

Wait, I think I´ve read about this game before and even seen screens from it. From what I remember, it looks pretty cool.

In fact, I think I´ve played it too but that was last year. I think it´s worth to try, at least.

It IS anime. It's basically a bunch of generic anime characters dresses as nerds who dress as generic anime characters.

But I can't seem to get it download right...

By the way, if anyone manages to actually, ya know, DOWNLOAD it, could you please let me know?

Downloaded it off the main site and extracted it.

It's got a good play control scheme, but I'm still sorta confused as to how the directions go. I've got to configure my controller for it to work.

The graphics are all completely hand-drawn... Which means that it takes a juggernaut of a computer to run it. I get 60 fps on Ragnarok Battle Offline on this machine, and SCWU gives me a minimal framerate loss. This is NOT for your average user.

The combo system works a lot like the super meter in the Marvel Vs. Capcom games, you build up to three levels and can execute super combos once you have a full bar. The action itself is very quick, there's air dashes and double jumps a la Guilty Gear (so naturally I'm having fun), but not much for a system of blocks, traps, or getaways. Basically, you hold back and you're impervious. Also, movement along the ground is kinda slow, and the fighting is clearly meant to be stylized. Some of the moves are a little too short-range for my tastes, but I haven't seen them all yet.

All in all, for a nonprofessionally made game, it's very fun. I'm liking it so far.
