Sky: I have engaged in archery before. I was surprisingly good at it, for my first time. I'd do it again as a hobby if it weren't illegal for me to operate weapons like that without a license here in RI.

Interesting fact: Apparently technology in crossbows is progressing to make them almost as deadly as guns nowadays...

Mouse: Being a werewolf would be very nice, save for the hair part. I'd at least get to go out during the day, and if you've read any of the World of Darkness lore, they're incredibly awesome (called Garou, not Lycans). Alternatively, we have talked about dhampirs...

Danielle: I have been ice skating several times before. I'm not any better at it than I am at rollerblading/skating, but that's not to say I'm bad at that, either... It's just that all of the times I went, I went with company that was less than enthusiastic about the act of skating without assistance.

So things with the girl in question are better now. She said she still needs some time to sort things out, but assured me she did still think of me as a friend, and essentially suggested that normal friendship would resume shortly. So my question is whether you think I should basically put off any thoughts of anything more ever completely, or merely hold back on expressing anything of the nature, or something else entirely, once that happens.

SKydude, I seem to be in your same position.

I would say that...don't expect or really hope for anything to happen, but don't rule out the possibility.

And don't rule out the possibility that someone else will come.

I'm head over heels for a friend who has no interest in me, and as a result, I now have crushes on a couple of other girls PLUS I'm smitten entirely by this one.

Which for me, is unhealthy, I think.
But I'm just not paying attention to those feelings, because if they're meant to come out, they will.

Anyway...

OK, so...

I met an incoming freshman to our college and me and some friends led her and some other incoming freshmen around and had a good time. For some reason, throughout the evening, I felt connected to her in a strange way.

Afterwards, as we were all heading back up to campus, she was a bit lost on where to go to get to the dorm she was staying in, so I offered to walk her up.
When we got there, and said our good-byes, she reached out and hugged--not some over dramatic hug, but, still, a hug. It caught me by surprise, because people around here don't seem to feel comfortable with hugging someone they know fairly well, let alone someone they just met.

I dunno, she's Canadian, so...

Do Canadians just like to hug people more, did it mean anything, or is she simply someone who likes hugs?

I'm kind of afraid of starting to like this girl, too, since I'm not even over the other girl I like.
Until I find a girl who likes ME for who I am as I like girls for who they are, and I can feel confident that things are heading toward a relationship, I feel like I'll never be able to get over the girl I like right now.

And which do you think will be the more popular console in this coming race: Revolution, PS3, or XBox360?

It's now been 10 days since Grey last responded in this.

Then again, it's been about as long since I was active in the SF, if not longer...whoops.

SKYDUDE IS CORRECT.

Anyway, sorry for being away for so long. I have been (still am, actually) caught up in the final tidbits of schoolwork that have been plaguing me. But fortunately, your fearless leader is back for another run.

Now, then... It looks like we have some pertinent ones here.

Thoughtless: I find myself most often staring at an open instance of Eclipse. I go for hours and hours sitting and contemplating my next programming move, wondering where that one single line of code will go to make the application PERFECTION DEFINED!

....Frankly, I'm surprised I haven't turned into a troll yet.

Sky: Well, you are right. You haven't been active in the SF lately. As for the girl, seriously: Back off and try to get to know her better. Don't press at all. You're clearly out of your league here, so you need to regroup and either try again at a more opportune time, or let things settle for a while before resuming the offensive. Love is a battlefield. Don't get hurt.

Phil: We've had this discussion before. It's not about trying. Don't try. Heck, HOT BLOODED PASSION AND FURY OF THE RAGING STORMWIND is enough to get people to come to you.

IY: The stragest thing I've ever seen... Man, I can't think of anything right now other than the fake-dub of the pilot to Bo-bobo Bo-bobobo.

DS: Girl-- No, not even girls, people in general like to hug, that's the way it goes, I think... A lot of the girls here at my school most definitely like hugging people. I see girls hug other girls all the time, as well as most of the "cool" type fellows that rank in the vast majority of the populace around here. But that said, if people really don't seem to hug all that often, you may have something here. I think the best idea would probably be to just hang out with her and, you know, see if she does it again, or exclusively to you. You never know...

And with the release of Nintendo's new name, I officially have no comment on the issue.

Not gonna make a single pee-joke?

That takes a lot of balls, Sir.

And no, people around here are very uncomfortable hugging people of the opposite sex--at least, as far as girls I know.
I mean, this girl's from Canada, so who knows, maybe she does just like hugging, I don't know.
if that's the case, that's awesome, because I love hugging, I just can only do it comfortable to guys because I'm always afraid of creepin' them out.
But a GIRL hugging ME without me making a gesture at all?
For me and my 19 year-old pathetic self, that's unprecedented.

But it may just be nothing, in which case, she's still and awesome person I look forward to being friends with.

And you can bet I'll be letting her play with my Wii come fall.
(OK, now, that's the first one I've done all day, and since Grey's against it, someone has to take a stand. In all honesty, I actually really love the name already, if only because it's just so damn FUN.)

Y'ALL AIN'T ME! Y'ALL AIN'T ME FO' SHO'!!!! CAN'T STEP TA THIS CROCK 'O MAD TYPO SKILLZ, YO!

And with that, I correct my mistake.

As for this week's round of questioning...

You can bet I ain't makin' a single pee-joke. The Wii is a good thing, methinks. That's my official comment for the time being.

As for as Zox torrents go, it's all right, Dani. They're actually a band largely local to the northeast. You wouldn't be able to find torrents of their earlier albums, since there's a good chance they've been independently produced.

A Vengenace is like a vengeance, but it's not quite as strong. In fact, it's more like a comical version of vegeance, in which the person who says vengenace realizes that he's supposed to have a vengeance, and at that point the grudge upon which the vengeance is based is soothed somewhat.

I don't hate you Dani.

Yeah. I am not surprised Danielle didn't find torrents.

She said so herself. "I suck at finding torrents" once. Don't deny it.

I don't know if this has been asked but don't kill me if it has.

What is your idea of a perfect date?

Not the situation itself and what happens but what would you take the girl or what would you do that is of your liking and preference?

After all, I'm only negative five years old.

Is it okay? Will they kick me out? I'm scared.
