____________________________________________________________________ GREY'S LAST POST: In a very un-human maneuver, Kalar sprung into the air as his weapon changed... The blade elongated, and the haft shortened into a small handle. Suddenly it broke in two as the shaft approached the length of Kalar's elbow. Separating the two halves was a chain made of the same near-immaterial substance that Kalar's blade was made of, so fine that it could pierce the air... A Kusari-Gama! Kalar: "You're..." He threw the blade, while still holding onto the chain. Its length extended, ever further and further, as the blade flew at the Charizard... "....A little too slow!" Kalar was still rising in the air, and hit the side of the building, his blade crashing into it and hooking on. Using it as a semi-holding point, he ran up the building and, once he gained enough momentum to not require an anchor anymore, whipped the blade out of its side. Seconds later, the Charizard would find a rather large, sharp, menacing, and wickedly curved blade flying straight at him as a certain blonde-haired warrior in a tattered black suit came soaring up off the lip of the building's roof. Said warrior then followed up his attack with a roundabout whip of the chain and the blade, attempting to ensnare the wayward Pokemon... ____________________________________________________________________ BACK TO THE BATTLE (Zerodius's turn): The Charizard's eyes widened as he seen his foe climb up the building! "But... but... what kind of creature is that?!? It cannot be human!" tought the Charizard to himself, panicking. The dragon placed his hands in front of his face, in a defensive position, as the human went toward him at an insane speed... and as the human tried to strike the Charizard... SCLUNG!!! The Charizard somehow grabbed the blade... "Counter." simply stated the Charizard, getting ahold of himself... | OOC: Don't forget, Kalar IS Ghost-type... Fighting moves don't affect him by the Pokemon rules, and you also have to be hit by counter for it to affect anyone. But at the same time, he IS a physical being, and since Charizard only took situational (i.e. tactically limiting) damage, I'll improvise.
Kalar: "Oh, FU---" *crash/shatter!* Wrap wasn't all that powerful of a single-shot attack, but the expletive was more towards the fact that Kalar was now completely thrown off balance. As the Charizard swung him towards the side of the building, Kalar used what little control he had over the chain (it was, after all, made of the same near-immaterial, Ghostlike substance as his scythe blade) to steady himself, landing hard, but on his feet, on the side of the building. He crashed through a window, and the blade in the Charizard's hand disappeared as Kalar exercised his shadowy powers... The harrowing screams of thousands of souls, damned and cursed, surrounded Charizard. A star suddenly burned in the tarmac of the building's rooftop beneath his clawed feet, drawn from five lines that crossed around him and burning with an unearthly fire... |

| OFF: DOH! *slams head against wall* Oooow... dizzy... err...
Anyway... sorry about that little mishap. Next time, I guess I should read your post more carefully... anyway, sorry about that. ____________________________________________________________________ The Shadow Charizard laughed as he slammed Kalar into the side of the building... and ended up slamming him into a window unstead. He stood there, still laughing as the blade disappeared from his hand... but when the screams disappeared, he stopped laughing and started to tremble. You see... that Charizard was especially scared of ghosts and well, those screams did a bit more than just unsettle him... Then, the Charizard's eyes widened in terror as the star appeared beneath his feet... but then, he slowly calmed down. "Phew! Shadow move... I think. I'm a Shadow Pokemon, Shadow moves don't hurt me... well... I hope..." he wasn't sure. He had heard the master talking about types... but he had never paid much attention... FWOOOSH!!! The Charizard was engulfed in cursed flames. He stood there, caughing smoke clouds in a cartoony way... "Whoa... resistant... but not immune... I guess..." the dark dragon fell on it's back and stood there, still a bit traumatised from the scary voices he had heard... ... During this time... ... The very mysterious and strange villain shook his head, staring at his incompetant minion. "I evolved that little annoying Charmander into a Charizard and made him into one of my executives becease he begged me... and now, a random human stomps him flat? | Kalar grinned as he felt the flames above him burn mildly. The fire was really just for effect... The star, of course, was a fairly symbolic component to his next trick, which he had spent the last few seconds preparing.
Kalar: "Hellstorm!!!" From the star came a blast of dark energy, fearsome power that passed right through Charizard's shadowy self. It rose up into the sky and formed deep, pitch-black storm clouds wrought from the ashes and smoke that filled the pits from whence Kalar's righteously misused power came... They formed into a dense miasma that mixed with the water vapors in the air and created a buildup of charged ions. (thinking): 'Star, it looks like I stole more from you than I thought, back in the day...' A series of bolts of shining electric-blue lightning crackled down from the sky, aimed at the five points of the star. They collected and caged around the Charizard for a few seconds, then sparked, sending five bolts of high-voltage power straight at it! |

| OFF: As a general rule... Knock down a boss's HP to about 20% and it will enter "Beserk mode". What does this means? Basically, the boss gets desesperate and start pulling off crazy techs... like the one in this post.
Some may be recognised from the Pokemon games... but do not rely on the games too much ; the mysterious and strange villain's troops have many nasty tricks in store and while they respect the elemental rules, those new attacks may be a little bit harder to avoid than your common Vine Whip or Tackle... ____________________________________________________________________ The first part of the magical combo, the dark column of energy, did little damage. In fact, upon being engulfed in dark energy, the Charizard regained his confidence despite slight cuts opening on his chest from the dark energy... "IS THAT THE BEST YOU CAN DO?" yelled the Charizard in defiance. "YOU'LL HAVE TO DO BETTER THAN THIS TO DEFEAT ME, FOOL!" Then, the dark energy came down... and five thunderbolts struck the Charizard from all sides! The dragon Pokemon screamed in pain as he was struck with an element against which he was weak. He felt his entire body frying to a crisp... which was kinda ironic, considering how he was fire-elemental. The evil Pokemon stood there, trembling in pain as he still felt his nerves burning from the tremendous damage he just suffered... but then, large purple flames errupted from his body as he caught on fire!... or rather, on dark fire! "ENOUGH!!! I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED BY A STUPID MONKEY!!!" screamed the Charizard, his eyes burning with anger! The Charizard took off and then flied downward, spinning like drill! He pierced right throught the solid concrete, making his way throught the ceilings and floors as if they didn't existed as he seeked to land right on Kalar's head and drill throught him! Since the the true power of his Shadow power had been unleashed, the Charizard was now able to permanently "sense" Kalar's soul and as such, since he knew where his target was, his attack was more precise than it seemed... and of course, it was very fast. | Kalar: "Monkey?"
He had DEFINITELY heard it... "I'll show you a monkey!" The Charizard drilled straight through the ceiling and into Kalar, who exploded into a dark wave of screams and shadows, the inky blackness of his now formless body extending into further sects of darkness. Kalar's voice rang out like nails on a chalkboard, screeching and screaming alongside its already regularly gritty tone... "You're all talk, you wannabe! I'll show you the REAL power of Shadow!" Without any light in the building that the Charizard had sliced through, Kalar was at a distinct advantage... He formed back into his normal body, and gripped his scythe in his hands, holding it in a guard and grinning eerily as his eyes glowed red... "Minor Drive Fusion!!!" A heart-shaped design appeared in blue light on Kalar's chest, beginning between his top pectoral muscles, bulging out to make the top of the heart, and then glowing downward and expanding into a cross shape where the point of the heart would be... His eyes changed from red to bright yellow, and soon his pupils could barely be seen... |

| The Charizard stopped drilling and stood there... then, he turned to face Kalar, who had transformed into something...
"Oh... flashy flashy... huh? What am I talking about? You use Shadow powers?... which means that... the Boss should be able to mind-control you! HA!" the Charizard grinned evilly and took out a phone... The Charizard stared at the phone and frowned... He then turned to Kalar. The way he was crying... priceless! Just the way only a true Pokemon dragon could have did, looking so cute despite being a dragon... but since this Pokemon was an evil, dangerous bastard, his cute face quickly turned terrible as rage rose within his heart. "THAT WAS A GIFT FROM THE BOSS, FURLESS MONKEY!!!" screamed in rage the dragon. | Kalar: "Right, I'ma get the hell out of here..."
Using the Charizard's long, drawn-out charge time to his advantage, Kalar begins running the hell away, dashing out of the building he's in and slicing a sizeable hole in the structure's wall. He turns a direct 90-degree angle from the building and gets as far as he can from the Charizard's blast radius. He then rears back, and prepares an attack... "This ought to be interesting..." |

The entire building exploded as a gigantic pillar of fire rose to the very sky, sending debris falling all over the city! | Kalar leapt into the air, slicing the chunks of cement in two as they flew at him. He wouldn't let blunt objects deter him when he had a scythe that could cut a millimeter slice of beef from a christmas roast.
Kalar: "Come on, that was pathetic. You seriously expect me..." He landed on the ground, and a dark aura swirled around him as he began to focus his energy... "...To be stopped by something so blatantly inferior?" |

| Suddenly, there was a purple blur!
The Shadow Charizard roared in rage and flew forward at incredible speed, completely covered by purple flames, as if he had turned into a huge living fireball! | Kalar raised an eyebrow, and his eyes glowed red for just an instant.
(thinking): 'Sky Attack, huh? I recognize the move style... The attacker surrounds him/herself with energy, fire, electricity, whatever they can muster, and hurls themselves high into the air. The catch, however, is that they're not nearly as mobile as they'd like, so they stand a much better chance of being hit than if they used a move like, say... Fly. Easy. Well, not really... Unless you're equipped with a good bit of electricity.' Kalar grinned again, and stomped his foot into the ground. A block of ice jutted upward as he used the stomp and his own hydraulic leg power to throw himself into the air. Ice's strength against your every-day flying move would help him out in this situation, and he knew that with the Charizard attacking the ground, Kalar could get the drop on him... All he had to worry about was the explosive recoil from that Sky Attack. Kalar: "Frozen Ray!!!" Kalar thanked Star again in his head, and raised his scythe as he floated in the air on a carpet of pure shadow. A bolt of lightning surged downward, which Kalar complemented with a shard of ice that formed at the edge of his weapon. Kalar swung, and as the lighting struck his scythe, he let the ice shard fly, charged with electric energy and unleashing a dual-element attack on Charizard's flying aspect. Kalar darted towards the ground, landing in a diving roll that ended with him on his feet as he turned towards his foe. (edited by Grey cat on 12-31-05 07:27 PM) |

| BAAAAM!
Kalar passed straight through the Charizard, piercing through his chest! The Charizard, dead before his attack was completed, crashed into the nearest building and quickly consumed by his own powers, the Shadow flames quickly devouring his lifeless frame. The foe was gone and in his fortress, the mysterious and really strange evil mastermind cursed his bad luck. Everything stood quiet... the first wave had been destroyed. Some of the survivors, which had been hiding under the debris while the fight went on, peeked out of their hiding places, noticing that the foes were gone... | Kalar regrouped with Janus, Grey, and Garro... But not before saluting to the crowd, and busting out a few mad dance moves.
Of course, his plan to regroup with the three of them was disrupted by the fact that Grey, of the three, was mysteriously missing. Janus: "Kalar! Where've you been? And what was that explosion just now?" Kalar: "What do you think? I ran into a few of our little friends. Where's Grey?" Garro: "He went off to search for survivors, just like you did. We haven't seen him in a few minutes, but he went to the ticket offices for the Indigo Stadium. Said that that was the most likely place to find a few people hiding out. But if that stadium is under attack, then it's likely to collapse, if that explosion just now was any indication of the power that these Shadow Pokemon can exhibit." Kalar put a hand in the air, rather matter-of-factly. Kalar: "Ah, actually... that was me." Janus and Garro raised an eyebrow at him. Janus: "Survivors, huh?" --------------- Grey walked into the ticket offices, a psychic shield around him, and his fingertips tingling and ready to rain burning rage down upon any shadows that threatened him. He looked to his left, to his right, and straight forward, hoping beyond all hope that nothing was trying to surprise him. |

| As the four begun to clear the area, they were able to save the survivors.
Thankfully, it seems that this first wave of attack did not cause any casualties... well, casualties that were other than that of the enemy's. Above the city, an invisible structure hovered silently. The mysterious evil being rose an eyebrow from inside, looking at the many monitors within the control room of the structure... "Hmmm... so there are some unusual creatures down there. Normal humans are not usually this resilient... and most of all, do not wield powers that match and even go beyond that of Pokemon and especially not Shadow Pokemon..." thought the creature to itself as it stared at the monitors... "... Illumina!" "You called, master?" replied a feminine voice that came from an unknown point, in the shadows. "You and Copy Prime shall go down there along with a new wave of cloned agents. Study the foe and analyse them. Once you have analysed their patterns, I want you to bring them to me... alive, if possible." "It shall be done, master!" with this said, the source of the voice vanished back into the shadows. "Alive? Such kindness is unusual of you, master..." said another feminine voice in a mocking tone. "Keep in mind your place! Remember that my ultimate goal is to correct this world, not destroy it! It is not because the hypocrtiical humans cannot be part of my new world order that every technology and power they have created is useless to me! Either those humans are a new or unknown breed, either the humans have made a leap in terms of bio-technology. Although taking Indigo Plateau will deal a blow to their defensive abilities and spread panic, we will require a more advanced offense if we are to make repeated feats like this." explained the figure. "I really don't see what's so special about those humans. What they destroyed was nothing more than newly-created, mostly flawed clones. They have yet to see some of our most magnificient creations. They are no big deal... but then, you ARE our lord and master... so I guess that whatever you say goes." said the feminine being, her tone still mocking. "Excellent. Now, make yourself useful and monitor the humans as well! I would also to remind you that I want them alive... and in a good shape, if possible. That means that you CANNOT play with them, keep that in mind, this time!" ordered the being in a progressively more and more annoyed tone. "What? No playing? Aaaw... so boring. Oh well... I'll get to work. See ya, handsome! Teeheehee!" the female figure then disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared... Grey closed his eyes, and his world ceased being one of sights and sounds and began to come to him in bursts -- an emotion here, a sensation there, a three hundred and sixty degree view of the world around him. What was he searching for, though...? Fear, he knew. Hope? Whatever he could find, he'd be sure to trace its sources... |

| Grey eventually felt a new wave of feelings... strange, "hollow" feelings coming from the hills east of the town. Creatures heading toward his location, quickly.
... there was also two other readings. One to the entrance of the town, much more erratic and chaotic. A strange reading... ... and then, there was a third reading, so strange that it was probable it was only a fluctuation.
