Yeah, gotta love the new version of sappy, but it seems to mess up each time I try to import new music. Is there a certain file type I have to convert it to before it'll actually play in game? | |||

If you want to insert midis, you'll need a program called Midi2GBA. It makes a .gba file with your songs in it, but that is not the reason to get it. Once you get that there is a file inside called midi2agb. That file converts the midi to a .s file.
After you get the .s file, open up Sappy and then your rom. Find the song you want to overwrite. Click Assemble Songs and find the .s file you just made. For the first offset (without removing the &H) put in some free space to import the song to. For voice, just use the voice offset seen in Sappy. Presto! The song is in!* The pointers are redone for you as well if you want. Now the instruments are probably messed up, so just export the tracks and edit them there then reinsert them. I believe that there is some help with that in the help file of Sappy, so I won't go into that here. *NOTE: Some songs won't work in Sappy but will work in game. Some won't work with both. Some will work in Sappy but not in game. If it doesn't work in Sappy then try it out with the emulator of your choice to see if it works. If you want to insert something else... well, I really don't know how to do such. Kawa could help... I guess... Or someone with knowledge of Sappy... |

Got the program, but it keeps closing after opening. Also when I try to drag the midi file (I know some progs do this so I gave it a shot) onto the prog itself, the same result occurs and no .s file is created.
EDIT: nevermind, I got it working. Thanks EDIT 2: I get an RTE 53 each time I try to assemble to music. (edited by RicePigeonKKM on 02-21-06 12:11 AM) (edited by RicePigeonKKM on 02-21-06 12:15 AM) |

No, Ken. You can't. You need a tool we're not legally allowed to distribute.
On a side note, I fixed Sappy's assembler. For good. When 1.1 is properly released, it'll work. |
