| Ok this holiday isn't really a holiday its irrelevent and pointless. I think this is the stupidest holiday ever around easter is alot more fun that that, but I don't do easter anymore, but the point of this that some weirdo made it up probably and had no idea what his mine was on. Probably on drugs on the time or something and this thread should be for only one day because its only for today not the next day and it goes on. Just making a point. | |||

Screw the commercialistic day that is called Valentine's Day. It's not even a true holiday anymore. Wasn't single last year for the first time and then it was ruined after we broke up (not on that day mind you). As long as I get candy I'm fine which my mom gave me some along with a small teddy bear and a card.  |

| Welp my Vday stuff went off without a hitch and I swear I think she nearly cried. We were waiting in the lobby at her dorm for her room mate to come and help her carry stuff and tons of girls were walking by and were like "wooowwww is all that for you [my girl]???" It's definitely the best Vday I've had and I haven't even gotten my gift from her yet. | |||

| Here is how its been for... well, all my life.
Beginning of day starts out bad. Either out of milk for my two bowls of cereal or missing the bus or having a lot of work that day. Then beginning of school. Ugh. Worst part of the day. Everyone around me gets candy or cards or balloons or something of the sort. Me? Well, the only thing I get is something from my parents (usually candy, anyway) and this year I got nothing from them. Everyone, including my friend I've known since kindergarten and is the most annoying person in the ENTIRE school, got something. I just want one Resee's... Way to make me feel bad. Never have liked February the 14. Then again, I've been single for my life as well... |

Single's Awareness continues. Here's my day thus far: Coffee hadn't kicked in during physics. Dont' remember what happened, or if I was even there. No memory of events before 9:15-ish. Chem lab. The Kool Kid gave me the prepped fudge. And...a nerdy girl at the lab bench was giddy as all hell. Said it was her first Valentine's Day with a boyfriend. Was really excited about it. And there was the girl wearing the Miami sweatershirt when I went to check mail...so glad to know loyalty exists. And other sappy grins around Nelson. Several roses out in plain side when ascending Morton Hill at 1. Damn the Special Dinner.... 1 dead in Clippenger. 3 dead in Nelson. 6 dead on Morton Hill. 103 dead in Shively. There will be Johnny Marzetti tomorrow. And, in closing, Derenhealde. Let's say this: the local shire will be...taken be surprise.... Stay out of my way.... (j/k :-P I'm not actually that disgruntled...everyone's fine) So...yeah. "If you don't have anyone, just don't pay attention to the holiday. That simple really. =\" Right...like I can get away from it while I'm working in a place decked out in commercialized Valentine's b.s., making malts, serving them with two straws for snuggly, shameless couples. I kill people for this.... 
For those who don't know what's up with this day.... St. Valentine was a Christian preacher back in Roman times, before Christianity was adopted as the the dominant paradigm. Valentine performed marriages between Christians, which was illegal under Roman Law. Eventually, he got caught. He and several others...didn't make it (don't remember how the dealt with him). Cannonized for being matyred, for performing a right granted to *any* person just for finding the right person. As far as I'm concerned, anybody can marry who they want. That's why we celebrate love at this time.. People risked *everything* for it, and others, such as Valentine, risked and lost everything to make sure they got it. |

Funny story, I might have unintentionally and indirectly got my school's Valentine Day dance cancelled. It was canceled due to lack of ticket sales, but they needed just ONE more ticket to be sold in order for it to be on. Well, I broke up a couple on purpose about a week ago. It was for a good cause though; I was doing an English report on dating in high schools, and I wanted to see just how severe a break-up couuld be. Despite never having a girlfriend, I managed to gather pretty much all the information from observation. It was a smashing sucess, and I was never caught. The two parties I broke up haven't started dating again. If I hadn't broken them up, the dance would've gone on. Not like I had a use for it anyhow.  On the lighter side of things, I did get an A on that paper for "unbiased information". |

The rest of the day we just spent with each other, spooning and watching tv, ordered our favorite food (Papa John's Breadsticks, with lots of Garlic Sauce). Then the night went on, her roommate gave us some privacy, which was nice, and she allowed me to stay the night, which was also nice because I don't have class on Wednesdays... so I'm just staying here today too... I think overall, it was a success. |
