On a similar note, it might be useful to post that rule explicitly every once in a while, so people just joining can't possibly miss it.

How is it cheating for them to delete the post? I think that a lot of the time the people who are posting the 5th guess just don't know the rules. And you're right, it shouldn't be necessary to keep reminding people. Which is why, if you'd actually read the entirety of my post, you'd notice that I suggested it be put into the game moderator's posts every once in a while.

Yes, ideally people should go back and read the rules...but it wouldn't be too hard to make it easier on people just joining the game.

Edit: it should be noted as well that some of the people who post the 5th guess post at about the same time as the person who made the 4th guess, so they may miss it. No sense in penalizing for something like that.

This is not a time when the post was made around the same time... And not knowing the rules is no excuse because they are clearly listed in the initial post. If players do not read the rules, they have no business playing the game.

Well, and I think right there is where we differ. I think that people make mistakes, and you shouldn't crucify them for them, give them an opportunity to learn and all. You seem to think that if someone screws up, even a little bit, they should be shot, essentially. Correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't want to make an unfair assumption about your opinion on the matter.

OK, to settle this:

You may NOT edit your post in any way IF someone has posted after you. But YOU CAN delete your post at any time as long as I don't see it. If you need to change your answer(which you shouldn't have to if you where paying attention), then just delete it and post again.

Simple, no? I'm not gonna consider deleting posts as cheating because the delete link is there for a reason and I can't keep records of who deletes what.
