| The point of this game is to change one word into another, by changing one letter at a time, in the fewest number of steps possible. Each step must be a real word, as well. For example:
Sky > Pig sky < sly slay slap sap sip pip pig < In other cases, I'll ask for an intermediate word. It's important to note that each word may only be used once in each puzzle. For example: Duck > Wing > Fly duck < dunk dung ding wing < win fin fen fey fly < For each round, the player with the shortest path earns two points. If there is a tie, then all the winning players receive one point. If you use a word that does not exist, any other player may point this out, and you will lose one point, as well as being disqualified for the round. If you attempt to correct someone, but the word does exist, then the challenger will lose one point, as well as being disqualified for the round. You may only submit one path per puzzle. If you edit your post later, then it won't be counted. You may use: any English word you can find on Dictionary.com that is not an abbreviation or acronym. No NASA, for example. Yet another exception: if the word has entered common usage, and it's okay to spell it without the CAPS, then you may use it. Laser and Scuba are good examples of this. As of this moment archaic and colloquial words ARE allowed. Prefixes and suffixes are not words, although the online dictionary will output them. Don't try it. I suppose that's it for the rules.
