Postsecret.com is an amazing website that people send their deepest secrets too.. in postcard form. It's honest and simple and raw. Reading every is like looking into the soul of the sender. It's just amazes me how much history every each individual person has.. and the infinite amount of endless possibilities there are in the world. There are so many stories, it's crazy.

I just thought I'd share this with you guys.. because some of you would probably appreciate it.

And I'm not suggesting you share your deepest darkest secret. But maybe you have something to say about the postcards, or just anything.

Meh, on another board I attend (a private board), there is a huge, longlasting topic where people talk about their own darkest secrets. Not lame things, such as confession of love, either. Things you're ashamed happened, bad things you did that nobody found out about, secret fetishes/fantasies, stuff like that. Reading those and comparing them to these...they just seem somewhat lame. Nobody outside of said board ever sees it, of course.

I'm tempted to believe the thread adsdf speaks of has some sort of anonyminity in it, otherwise... wow.

Usually they're not all about love.. but Valentine's day is comming up.. so yeah. Some of the secrets are like 'I've been a heroin user for 10 years, I'm only 18.'.. or things like that. They've just opted for the love theme for valentine's.

I thought as much.

Oh, and Xkeeper, it isn't anonymous. The board is a lot crazier than this one though; and registration is closed off. There aren't as many rules in place, aside from intentionally being annoying. Just about everyone there is fairly mature, but have what some would consider immature senses of humor. But pretty much everyone on the boards (including myself) have posted secrets in that topic. The topic has been active for about a year and a half with 2000+ posts, and nobody has been viewed differently as a result of posting dark secrets. Some were even humorous; but one of the best ones was about a guy and his friend "fucking up" a kid by telling him about an evil monster that preys on little children. The setup was so awesome that it really stood out. If you want the full details, just ask me and I'll send it to you via PM.

www.boxedthoughts.com

This is a better site, in my opinion.

It wants what you think, and you can follow people's thoughts. It's truely amazing how you can know somebody, without ever speaking a word to them...

It's also a lot easier to use, and isn't full of pictures.

The problem with alot of "confession" type sites is that they turn into lame emo confessionals like grouphug.us where people confess the betrayal of bla bla bla bla and it turns into a whining board.

I think these are interesting because they require the person to create artwork that involves a secret of theirs. They're pretty to look at. And the person has to actually go to the post office and mail them... which is a journey all in itself. It just consumes alot more time and effort than thoughtbox or grouphug.

Like you take your secret or regret.. and make it into a tangible thing. You have to look at it. I made one and sent it in... it was kind of a releasing experience. Moreso than one could feel by sending something over grouphug.
