I suddenly got the urge to play this game, probably due to its gameplay. It isn't completely real time, and it isn't really turn based.

On the map its real time and it flow smoothly, hell traveling on different terrain changes your movement speed and if you have a flying unit its all the better. The ability to make legions, although they're mainly useless unless you have a lot of extra groups. The raw strategy is really made beforehand when you're putting your groups together and then you have to think of where all your units are going to go, whether you want a high Chaos Frame or a low one, so you have to liberate all the towns and you have to do everything practically perfectly.

Then the massive amount of different group combinations, the turn based battles, where you have no control besides who to attack really, the awesomeness doesn't really stop.

Yeah, has anyone else played this game? I don't believe it was all that popular (Not like Final Fantasy or anything at least) and it was on the N64, games were kind of rare. However, supposedly it is going to be one of the downloadable games for the Revolution.

there is a following to get the SNES original translated...

Strategy RPGs rock, although they can be a little annoying at times. I haven't gotten around to playing this particular game but I heard it is in the same class as FFT.

It is nothing like FFT gameplay wise really.

I also think that the original one for the SNES has been translated or was released in America.

Yeah, there are individuals who still want the original translated even though the PSX version is the SNES version translated...
